I thought i would make this thread as i just watched a Wade doc.
I feel many players should follow the role model of Wade, he is such an amazing player, person and role model to young nba athletes, whose work ethic is second to none and whose love of the game is priceless.
Many people question Bron, question others... But with Wade, i really feel this guy is one of if not the most genuine superstars in the league right now.
He deserves alot of respect and many people can learn from him.
    Peace.

He definitely gives off that humble vibe. He hasn't complained about his team so far... and doesn't cause much trouble on-court or off-court.

How many stupid things have slipped out of his mouth this summer?

He's also one of the people responsible for this whole Miami fiasco.

I respect Wade's game but my respect for him, overall, has gone down over the past couple of months.

Wade has done it mostly on his own, he had shaq but every1 has someone else. His has fulfilled that, unlike Bosh and James. He knows this is best chance at winning, again - note he already has won! He definitely deserves more credit than Bosh and James

No matter how humble or genuine you are, if 2 of the top FAs want to play on ur team then ur not turning that down. i dont blame him for that.

Wade gives off a "humble" vibe?

    Since when?

The guy brushes his shoulder off, yells or swaggers off almost every time he makes a basket.

He's an awesome basketball player, but probably not the model you want to teach kindergarten kids if you're going for modesty.

Dwyane Wade is the only one of the new big 3 that my opinion has not changed. LeBron is being a dick and Bosh blew us off, but Wade still seems to be very classy.

The comment about the WTC was a stupid mistake, a poor choice of words, but the idea behind it -- that people would blow every Heat loss out of proportion -- was sound. And what "fiasco"? Three free agents did what they have every right to do and went where they wanted to go. They sacrificed money because they want to win. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what they did. The way LeBron handled it was crappy, yes. But they didn't do anything unreasonable. Unprecedented, yes. Unreasonable, no.

I want to see the Heat lose to the Rockets as much as anyone, but I have no loss of respect for Wade.

There's a fine line between showing passion and heart and being a d-bag. I don't think Wade has crossed that line.

i wasnt sure if some of the earlier posters were being sarcastic. ignore if u were.

he might come off humble on the tv screen but his off court life has been in shambles. theres the messy divorce where the wife accused him of purposely transmitting sexual diseases, custody battle for his kids, someone on this bbs mentioned questionable business practise. maybe some of them were bad choices or made by those close to him and through no fault of his, but seems like theyre all stacked pretty high close to him.

i think hes one of the more shrewd basketball players in crafting his on screen image, no doubt a student and benefactor of being under jordan's tutelage.

    Everyone does that...

I remembered Yao staring people down after dunks once.
    Brooks does the same thing.
    Ariza for sure.
    Taylor does it.

I'm talking about modesty in the way he talks to the media and approaches people. He doesn't have the elitist way of speaking like Kobe does. He doesn't really talk down to people you know?

I guess you could say Kobe with his six rings has earned the right to talk like that. But regardless...
