What, you thought Lisa didn't have this? Stick with what you have... Or are you saying they talk to her just because she's a basketball player? So was LISA. Or are you saying this because she played for the Comets, and Lisa didn't? OK, you got me there.
But the interviews are all from MEDIA DAY because the team has been on the road. So, in reality, it's been one day.
Yep. It's true. Cooper has no media or journalistic experience. She's out of her league. The few times that I've seen her "interview" players she's been awkward and unprofessional.
honestly... who cares. They wanted to keep Coop in the organization for all she's done for them... this is their way of paying her back. But, seriously... the only time we can start getting judgemental about our HALFTIME SHOW REPORTER... is when we have a championship calibar team that has NO OTHER WEAKNESSES. Till then, lets keep the bbs space focusing on those, rather than this Lisa/Cynthia meaningless dribble. Oh, btw, who was our halftime commentator when we were champions?... the venerable Bruce Geitzen working from a channel 20 studio. The man was a little chubby and balding... yet he was a reporter for a championship team. I'll take anybody... as long as the team is good.
MCM.. i couldn't tell from your comments what you were trying to say. Sarcasm comes out oddly in typed form.
I hate to say I told you so, but I did. Cooper is an embarrassment to the organization. She has neither the skills nor the credentials to be interviewing people. Last night's debacle was honestly the worst interview I have seen on television. Her language and demeanor are just not appropriate for television. Firing Lisa Malosky is the latest brain fart from the Rockets' marketing geniuses -- the same ones who brought us pinstripes and sky high hidden convenience charges on our ticket purchases.
There is nothing intimate about her interviews... She is new at this and I will give her that. And the benefit of hopefully getting better at some point. But right now she is not even close to Lisa. Actually I liked Jeff better than both anyway... I remember thinking last year while we suck as a team our halftime coverage was pretty good, better than it has been in years. And even Calvin who can get on my nerves sometimes, was generally entertaining and worked well with Bill . I know this is strictly about Les and change, and maybe Coop will improve. But as of tonight things are worst. ( I could almost say the same thing about our team). Change for the sake of change is not always good. Let's hope she improves because the halftime report sucked.
right now coop isn't even close to lisa. that halftime was almost unwatchable but she might have just been nervous. she does have the player knowledge to be insightful in the future though. let's just hope we don't have a tim hardaway situation on our hands.
I really don't think it is that much to ask for our halftime color commentator to *not* bring up the color and cleanliness of Calvin Murphy's UNDERWEAR. Was this the low point in all of Rockets' broadcast history? Probably. As if that wasn't bad enough, she then followed up this immature display with *another* immature display by singing "go Calvin it's your birthday". I turned my television off right then and there. That was DISGRACEFUL. Professionalism? Ha! Once again we are the joke of the league and now we are an embarrassment to broadcast journalism.
I hate how she's doing. I don't want to see her hanging out with players and asking them stupid questions, I want to see the players talking. Coop has to remember that they're the show, not her. She also has to remember that she's not a comedian. I'm not watching the halftime show anymore, I just can't stand it. She is not Calvin 2, Calvin is 10 times better.
We complain about everything don't we....... It was her first night....she's nervous. If she still does it 10 games in then I can see it being a problem, but jeeez. The PA announcer is not bad, but he does need to know when to do that "You are the 6th man"....again, he's new and adjusting. The Rockets are new tooo......new coach, new key role players, new system, new arena, etc. "Be part of something NEW"....should be the catch phrase. I'm not ready to complain yet.
