If the Rockets are "all in" this season to "win now", that 17 and 10 certainly would help. :)

plus he is top 25 in the league in steals. that would mean about a fifth of the top 35 steals players would be on this team. that is pretty crazy and very fun to watch haha

I'm not necessarily gung-ho on Lawson but he is much more than Canaan.

Canaan is in the Aaron Brooks, Nate Robinson mold category... Quick scoring guards that ultimately can't effectively run a team offense. Lawson is much more effective than Canaan getting to the rim and finishing in traffic. More importantly he can still affect the game by setting guys up. He has natural PG court vision and awareness that guys like Canaan, Brooks, Robinson just don't.

Personally I'm not a fan of starting anyone that is a major defensive liability but I recognize Lawson's value and how he could really help this team.

I actually agree that Lawson is a good comparison for Canaan. Their skill sets are very similar. Only differences i see in talent/skill is Canaan is clearly a better defender who is much more capable of staying in front of his man. With experience and opportunity Canaan's production won't be far off (except for assists since Harden is basically running the point)

Consider this about Ty Lawson from Grandland's "The Future of Basketball Is Here, and It Looks a Lot Like James Harden"

canaan can't run a team or finish in the paint. the only thing he has in common with ty lawson is that they're both short.

I actually like Canaan, but I think people need to relax on the comparisons to Lawson.

They kind of look like the same player, but then they play basketball and while one of them plays at a borderline all star level consistently, the other can't beat out Pat Beverley and an 85 year old Jason Terry for minutes.

if there is a chance (there is like a .01 % chance) the Nuggets decide they need to part with Lawson for no reason, Morey will be there to snatch him up with no regard for anyone not named Harden, Howard, and maybe DMo (even that's arguable).

    This.

Getting Lawson is akin to Nasa building a second rocket just in case the first one fails. If we could add him without major disruption to the team chemistry, we have to be considered co - favorites to win it all this year. Dude would fit this year like the proverbial glove.

Alternatively, Jameer Nelson is another possibility without giving much in exchange.

I don't think they are as attached to Lawson as you do. Are they going to give him away? No. Is he 100% indispensable? No.

First, he's no better than the #11 PG in the league:

    Westbrook
    CP3
    Lowry
    Irving
    Lillard
    Curry
    Wall
    Rose
    Dragic
    Parker

All of those guys have proven more than Lawson. He on a similar level as Bledsoe, Conley, Teague and Holiday.

Due to their cap situation, Denver doesn't have much chance of making the playoffs until the 2016/2017 season, when McGee, Galinari, Hickson and Foye come off their books. By then Lawson will be 30 years old and in the last year of his contract.

If I were Denver, I'd be building around Nurkic. He's 20 and already showing signs of being a good post defender and scorer. Get as many assets as you can now for Afflalo, Lawson, and Chandler, and then be aggressive in both 2016 free agency and on the trade market. Even Faried should be shopped.

Just offer up Pap+Terry+Schved+Canaan+NOP Pick+NY pick for any of the following...

    Dragic
    Rubio
    Bledsoe
    Lawson

Obviously that is overpaying but the time to cash in is now.

Has there been any, as in a-n-y, indication that Lawson is in any way available?

Absolutely nothing that I have seen but it makes a ton of sense when you are just kicking crap around (See the previous 1100 pages)

I understand that Lawson and Faried are a "core" but I am not convinced that Denver wouldn't move to expedite Lawson. He isn't young and Denver has to take a real look if at they can actually compete over the next 3-5 years.

More than Dragic or Rubio. There's more sense here than a Rondo to Houston. So basically, there's a higher chance for Lawson than any of the fake insiders' targets.

Jameer traded to Denver for Nate Rob. With the Chandler rumors as well, looks like Demver is in an all-out Fire sale
