    Different positions (pitching vs. hitting), bigger learning curves in pitching, different peripherals... more things to measure.

    If Wandy was a soft-tossing righty, he likely doesn't develop. Just like speedy hitters who hit only singles and don't draw walks typically don't develop to much more than either a Juan Pierre-lite, or a defensive-replacement/pinch-runner du jour (Dave Roberts).

    And in the end, Wandy may just have a bad second half... and approach a 5. something ERA. I just said its more common for soft-tossing lefties to take a while to develop. Willy's got speed... and unless he's going to develop gap-type power, or more bat speed to get around on inside fastballs, or an eye to draw walks (that he never has... at any level)... he is what he is RIGHT NOW.
