well yes, but i dont think CWebb will oblige to backup Chuck hayes. He's going want to start and play 30 minutes a game which means for 30 minutes a game we will have a huge gapping hole in the defense
he only played about 24mpg for the pistons. yes, he started and probably wants to do so next season as well. he can start and play the first quarter. rest him in the second. let him start the 3rd (6 minutes) and finish the 4th (6 minutes). he plays during the most important part of the game. starts. and we can retain hayes as a defensive stopper to back him up for 24 minutes.
he played 24 minutes a game because the Pistons had depth. if he comes here, he will be playing 30 minutes a game minimum.
Its funny how since Rox got Adelman as coach, so many people want to see current or former Sac Kings to come to Houston. As for me, I would much rather see McDyess here over CWebb. I think McDyess is the perfect PF for this team.
anybody want CWebb with the Rockets is beyond my wonder. CWebb gets no legs at all. I feel sorry for him dragging himself up and down the court. Deke run faster and smoother than CWebb. Yeah, he can still give u some pts/assists/rebounds but he will give it right back at the defensive end. I'll rather take a chance on some young unknown players.
sorry but no to cwebb. it makes sense and all ,but this guy is just not a winner. we already got rid of one of the cursed fab five members, why bring in another one>
It's not as realistic to get McDyess because he's got a player's option to stay there. I don't see why he would opt out unless he can make more money. His contract will be 6+ million this year. Why would he take a cut and sign with us for ~5 million?
Let's get another key piece to the puzzle whom we can build on for the future. No more stop-gaps ... Webber would be a stop gap. We just got rid of Howard at the end of the trail ... why would we get Webber? Let's go for Amir Johnson, Cedric Simmons, Hilton Armstrong, Ike Diogu, Linus Kleiza, David Lee, Channing Frye, Mike Sweetney, Matt Barnes, Nick Collison, Tyrus Thomas, Andres Nocioni, Jeff Foster, Irsan Milasova, Sheldon Williams, Sean May, Darko Milicic, Travis Outlaw, Reggie Evans, Matt Bonner, Andris Biedrins, Patrick Obryant, Ronnie Turiaf ... even Chris Wilcox. But, let's not add an old geezer at PF ... unless he's a warrior. I don't see anyone in the draft we could get to fill that immediate hole. The only guy I see we could get in this draft is Sean Williams, who brings the same concerns that Griffin had, only he's in the second round. If we did do a trade with Seattle, and gave them our 1st round pick, I'd sure like to get one of their second rounders back, and grab a Williams, Gasol, Green, Pruitt, Belinelli, Tucker, Koponen, Affalo, Dudley, Fazekas or Glen Davis. One of those guys will stick, even if they take time to develop.
i don't know if that's phisically possible anymore... not for a whole season. i think he'd be more than willing to accept 24 minutes per game. he's not trying to kill himself.
Sometimes I think Kurt Thomas would be the perfect PF to play along side Yao. He's a good defender that can hit the open mid range jumper. If Webber comes for the vet minimum, he would be an upgrade to anything we've had recently.
I understand where the idea could come from since Webber could be had for very cheap, and since we need a PF, and because of his connection with Adelman... but this guy is not going to make any salient improvement to our team. NO MORE OLD PEOPLE.
