I was feelin' it too on Sunday Morning after a LOONG Saturday night.

I always try to do at least one of the following:

    - Have a Nice Dinner with some Carbs (though i'm on atkins during the week now!) * Which I did...Went to Vincents for Dinner...Delicious!

    - While you're out. DON'T MIX. I stay away from wine and shots. Stick to one drink throughout the night. Either its an Absolute Mandarin / Red Bull Night as it was Saturday or another theme.

    - Drink water even while you're out. When in a bar/club, a mix in a tall glass of ice water with a lime, or just a can of Red Bull alone. It actually tastes pretty good and keeps you going strong.

    - If you're that messed up at night, drink some gatorade/water and EAT something !! Whether its taquitos or a burger, eat something and drink water while you eat.

    - The Next morning when you get up eat something greasy! I did Beck's Prime on Sunday morning..errrr..afternoon. A cheese burger coke and fries did the trick.

I think a combination of the high sugar in coke and the grease in the burger makes it all better!

    SWT,

Never tried it with Jaeger. I might have to this weekend. Jaeger tastes like really old bad cough syrup to me though.

So Where did everyone here go this weekend Anyway????

Went to the NEW Little Woodrow's here in Austin. Yes they have a Little Woodrows here now, and I am freaking pumped up!!!

Its on 6th Street across from Star Bar and just a block away from Katz Deli. Kinda small but it has a big open deck and a cool wrap around bar. Beer and wine only. 3 Golden Tee 2004 arcade games.. 2 cool plasma TV's and 6 others in various locations.... Hottie waitresses/bartenders just like the one on West Alabama :D

We also crashed a "Six Feet Under" party with recurring actor Jason Graae.

Note to self or anyone else..... DONT MIX BEER AND WINE = NASTY HANGOVER!!

How about a nice, greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?

This always helped after a night long drinkfest with Lisa...;)

In spite of two nasty morning-afters I've taken in over the last three weeks, I've had incredibly good luck with missing out on the hangover. I deserve to be treated much worse. I'm sure this has a lot to do with my age (23), but I'm always shocked at how much better I'm doing the next day than my drinking buddies, most of which are much bigger than me (I'm skinny, only 5'9").

My main emphasis is on the night-before, staying away from certain things, and staying consistent with yr boozin'. I try to stay away from most "fruit" or "fruity" drinks, mainly because the "fruity" ones have too much sugar and that can't help you the morning after.

The "fruit" drinks, your vodka/cranberries, should be good from you, but because most of the cran or OJ come from a gun (powder and water), it isn't nearly as healthy as the stuff you drink from a bottle.

Wine, even good wine, it'll mess you up. Sulfites are killers. Vodka's the best to drink, but I started getting allergic reactions to it last fall after years of chugging gimlets or vodka/grapefruits. I'm a Jack drinker, not the cleanest stuff you can throw down your throat, but if you stay consistent ...

Try to stick with the same drink all night. If you have to do shots, and I usually do, drink the same shot you may have in your cocktail. Stay the hell away from well or house liquor. Cheap beer is the lesser of two evils when compared to cheap liquor.

It could be some sort of weird, Pavlovian-superstition thing I pull off like a stupid mutt, but a B complex vitamin always seems to help when taken the night before. Obviously, plenty of water. Greasy food is great, but I've done better with foods that involve giant buns. Nothing like a big brat with a thick bun to coat a stomach full of bourbon.

I stopped with aspirin because of a stomach condition that existed well before my drinkin' days. An ibuprofin or two helps the day after with the neck pains or overall sluggishness (get that blood moving).

My favorite thing for staving off a hangover, when getting lucky is out of the question, is trying to stay up after I get home from the bar and see myself back to sobriety. Even if you miss out on sleep, it's better to be tired the next day than tired _and_ hungover. Get on the Internet, make a drunk post, rattle off a few drunken emails, and nurse a beer or two over the next few hours.

It sounds pretty ****ing sad to be doing this at 6am on a Saturday morning, but drinking a can of beer and watching the History channel can be pretty sweet. Good times. Now that NBA TV is back to showing ancient games, there's more entertainment to be had on the tube.

Don't try and put on a tape or DVD or album you've seen/heard a million times before, it'll just lull you to sleep. Just try not to pass out, that's my thing. Your body will slowly come around. Better to do it at 5am than 5pm.

And, good God, don't be calling any ex-girlfriends.

2 aspirin + vodka screwdrivers + greasy-spoon diner breakfast = no more hangover.

This will work wonders! As long as you don't know what it is (or don't care), you'll be good as new!

Definitely. I gotta agree with my girl and w/Flagrant. Menudo works wonders.

Just don't ask whats in it. Or don't care. I still get funny looks from the Mexican staff when a gringo like me orders that stuff.

Only been totally plastered four times, but no hangovers yet. I've been fortunate enough to be in the presence of responsible adults that made sure I chased everything with lots and lots and lots of water. Worst thing I ever had was an encore vomiting session.

Yeah, I could see how large doses of B12 would help with dehydration, alcohol ketosis and brain inflammation.... not to mention a severly irritated stomach.

You can go for a long time because you aren't suffering from premature ejaculation because your senses are numbed. Which is why people get whiskey dick.

So the catch phrase is "SimmerDowNaaw Penis"

Christ man, what's with you? Of course I eat something and of course I stay hydrated, but eating and drinking water alone would still more often than not leave me "feeling it" the morning after. Same thing with taking asprin, tylenol, multi-vitamin, etc. I started taking B12 before a night of partying, and I haven't had a bad morning after since.

    sheesh.

    You're a moron.

    http://www.ryerson.ca/healthservices/html_docs/healthpromotion/alcohol_hangover.htm
The reason behind this is that Vitamin B12 helps the digestive system with protein synthesis, and proper absorption of carbohydrates and fats. Taking Vitamin B12 the next day will help with fatigue, listlessness and trembling. And it is said that Vitamin B12 helps with the metabolization of alcohol in the system. This will help get rid of the alcohol left in your system from the previous night.

Just search for B12 and hangovers if you want to keep ignoring first-hand experience: B12, for me, is completely, absolutely, and 100% effective in hangover prevention.

I don't believe that B-12 is a cure all for hangovers all the time, but it has been shown to help. I've used it and it usually helps. If it were just a placebo effect, as you seem to be suggesting, anything would work (vitamin A, C, D, E...iron, magnesium). But you notice that no one has mentioned most of these. And you know why? Because B-12 really does help. Look at science.

    I agree with my man....you're a moron.
