Well... this time he hurt it while PITCHING, not hitting.... he winced badly on the last pitch he threw to Maddux (that's probably when it was hurt, cause his stuff was still good the batter before).

Since it is now a pitching injury, it CANNOT be taken lightly...

    They didn't say too much.

They just said Pettite was coming out and they showed a replay of his last pitch. Pettie grimaced real bad and they speculated it was his elbow.

Ditto. I hope that Pettite's situation doesn't turn out like Oswalt's did last season with reoccurring injuries, but it doesn't look good.

For some reason, I'm fearing the worst on Pettite right now. And, the worst would be a torn ligament that requires TJ surgery...

Not to say that he couldn't come back from that, but it would be (at the earliest) two years from now at full strength.

But, we won't know ANYTHING till they take an MRI either tommorow, or Friday.

I'm just banking on the fact that I'm usually not "right" about these things...

I had a yankee fan tell me from day 1 that the reason the yankees didn't offer andy a huge 4 year contract etc. (Even though they offered him 3 and more than us) was because they fear his elbow is messed up.. I kind of just blew it off as jealousy and said.. "well then why would they offer him 3 years" etc... although that money they offered was little money for the yankees...

he said that andy had elbow problems last year.. I sure hope he isn't right and this isn't some recurring thing...

Is that Doggy's 1st assist this year??

    Good timing. Rescues Stone.

Looks like the bullpen is going to be hanging on for dear life .............

nick.... I had forgotten I posted something similiar after first injury.. I sure hope he wasn't right.. I figure that I only heard that from yankees fans.. and with the astros etc checking him out they would pick up anything like that. I still think it's probably just jealousy that we got him that makes them claim that.. but it would be an explanation of why they didn't offer him more...

please andy be alright! I was pulling for signing andy and I want many successful years as an astro

BTW, pretty dumb decision to send a slow footed catcher, from 2nd base, knowing Doggy has a gun.

Especially knowing that you have your leadoff hitter facing Stone if you hold him at 3rd.

Good spot for a squeeze here.

EDIT: Its a squeeze!! Palmeiro drives in Doggy.

    Nice insurance run.

(thats twice now this year where I predicted a squeeze only to have it happen seconds later :p )

YAY... I was wrong... its Andy's left forearm, not his elbow. (from radio announcers)

Even though its still an injury (and he could miss time), its definitely NOT as bad...
