    I didn't see it posted.

HAVANA - Ailing leader Fidel Castro resigned as Cuba’s president early Tuesday after nearly a half-century in power, saying in a letter published in online official media that he would not accept a new term when the newly elected parliament meets on Sunday.

“I will not aspire nor accept — I repeat I will not aspire or accept — the post of President of the Council of State and Commander in Chief,” read the letter signed by Castro and published quietly overnight without advance warning in the online edition of the Communist Party daily Granma.

Let's get a good government in Cuba so we can normalize relations.

Raul Castro, Fidel's brother, is succeeding him. Heard he isnt the biggest teddy bear around, but I know nothing of him, so I cant make a fair judgement. Like DD, Hope we can get some better relations with Cuba.

This is certainly good news, though maybe a little overblown. While Fidel was sick, Raul ran the country. This will be no different.

Thats what I figured. Lady on the news described Raul as "Half the wisdom of Fidel, but twice the ruthlessness."

I just want to be able to go to Havana and enjoy a cigar and some of the natural beauty that the island has to offer.

I don't think there will be any change anytime soon since he is going to have his supporters carrying his wishes out.

I gotta ask my 18 yr old cuban friend in Miami to see what he thinks. I NEVER HAD A REAL CUBAN BEFORE!!!!!

I want to lay about on a Cuban beach with my wife, watching the topless European chicks hanging out, and then have great Cuban cusine for dinner. Make it happen!

    Less facial hair, less mercy.

You'd better make sure they're real. You don't want to get stuck with a bunch of Dominicans.

We (civilians throughout the countries of America) are living in a state of animosity, when we should be helping each other.

History indicates that good governments = U.S intervention
U.S intervention leads to tension, which then leads to civil war, which breeds animosity.

I just wish the U.S would stay out of it, Chavez too. the people should decide.
