"Raptors in Position to Grab Austin Croshere

According to the Boston Herald -  Croshere's best option is in Toronto. Indiana? New coach Isiah Thomas says he wants to re-sign all of the veterans, meaning Croshere wouldn't see anymore playing time and not a lot more money. Boston? They didn't have any money to start with. And, now, along comes Toronto offering the world. 'Reportedly, things have not proceeded as quickly with the Pacers as Croshere's camp would like. And talk that new coach Isiah Thomas wants to bring back all the Pacer free agents seems to indicate that Croshere would not have the prime role with the club that he seeks. In a financial sense, Toronto also may be able to get sufficiently under the cap (more than $5 million) to offer a contract that capped clubs like the Celts wouldn't be able to match."

Interesting. Mobley, Lewis, Eisley, and now Croshere. For a team with so much front-office problems, Toronto sure is attracting a lot of attention. Because of that, it won't be Croshere. Lewis will probably re-sign with Seattle. So it comes down to Mobley or Eisley...but how could Utah let Eisley leave?

Croshere will have a tough decision to make.

While money is important, so is playing time, etc, etc and we all know who the SF is in Toronto---and Croshere is more suited to play SF really, so he wont be going there, unless all else fails for Toronto and they cant sign anyone. I say Croshere resigns in Indiana but may take an exception for some team for one year---either Boston or Houston.

Hmmmmm, this is very interesting. If Croshere does not ink a deal with Indiana due to them re-signing all their vets, the Rockets could have a legit shot at him. If he is not going to re-sign with them, I think the Rockets could really pursue a sign and trade. This is pure speculation on my part, but I have felt that Isaiah Thomas would be interested in Walt Williams. Remembber, he is the one that gave the Wizard his 5 yr 20 mil contract back in Toronto after Walt had a career yr. If Croshere is walking, I wonder if the Pacers would be interested in atleast getting something, Walt Williams, Bryce Drew, Milw pick, not a bad package at all, better than getting nothing. Just a thought.

Indiana is saying no to a sign and trade so far...but if he really wont resing I dont see why they wouldnt want to get something in return.
