We still run the pnr a few times a game with Dwight and James.

With Josh and Dwight, imagine if the defenders stay with Dwight and dares Josh to shoot the jumper. Yikes!

Seriously. Every fan on here screamed wtf when Canaan and kPap were left out of the rotation. Mcfail needs to be ahead of these things not behind. He's a reactive coach. Bev gets hurt? ok I need to give Canaan some run. Howard & jones hurt? ok I need to play DMo in the post. We experience success and what does he do? Bev comes back then Canaan back to not playing...Howard came back then DMo goes a few games with no post touches....this stuff is pathetic by Mchale. Ariza continues to play too many minutes but thankfully it appears Mcfail is reacting again and will hopefully cut down Ariza's mins by utilizing kPap again. Smh this guy is a horrible rotation manager. He's admitted that at times his assistants have to remind him to do things because he watches the game like a fan:rolleyes: smh

McHale is a pimp, he walks with a limp, he sits at Pappadeaux's and eats steak and shrimp.

Agreed. I have to admit I was a little concerned after the Pelicans game. But bouncing back and wining by 35? Faith restored. I just hope Josh Smith will be content coming off the bench.

Credit is certainly due to Coach...but the post-Pelican game adjustments were pretty obvious and were made effective by the message Coach sent during the Pelicans game. That was what deserves credit. That's outstanding coaching.

Credit goes to DMo also who kept his head up and didn't let the Smith signing affect him..at least visibly. He showed a lot of maturity...and he took a big step forward in my eyes in his development.

Going by what the Pelicans commentator said. McHale might have told Donuts he wasn't going to lose minutes to Smith even if he was coming off the bench.

DMo doesn't have the athleticism to catch an alleyoop. Maybe a reverse could work. Let DMo start at the elbow with Smith setting the pick and roll to the basket. DMo can pass. Not sure if he has the handle to drive from that far out.

DMo is a solid passer. His greatest strength in that department is his willingness to pass. It's in his nature as a player. European players have had less one on one influence than American players. That's really the biggest difference between European players and American players.

Fun Fact: since Les Alexander bought the team, he's never fired a coach.

His followers have never fired a coach either.

I guess you can sort of point to Rudy T, but that was more off-court issues.

    Hahahahahahaha.

    Rudy T, JVG, Adelman.....

All basically fired, even if the PR says otherwise.

    Yep.

Mchale has been poor at rotations since he's been here.

One of my two biggest gripes about him.

And it all boils down to him being reactionary like you said. Just like kubiak was.

Only giving him credit for having some balls by starting DMo over Smith and benching the starters when they were playing poorly.

Doing that bumped his coaching grade from a C- to a solid C. Like someone mentioned previously, I believe all his decisions are reactionary and after the fact.

McHale deserves a lot of credit across the board this year but these changes you mentioned have taken weeks to emerge. While the elite coaches can tinker with strategy during a 15 minute halftime it takes McHale a handful of games to counter. Ever since Sampson left the staff we've been slow to evolve.

It's fine in the regular season but when Aldridge gets to drop 150 points before anyone can react it's a problem.

I hate to be negative but when it comes to McHale he still has a lot to prove to me.
