Would anyone dump Stro and Moochie to Utah for Boozer if he proves he is healthy, which will be around the time that we can trade Stro. The benefit for Utah is Moochie comes off the books this year and Stro is same position as Boozer but alot cheaper. For the Rockets... Well its a amazingly risky move because of the contract that Boozer has. But looking at his numbers, his history etc. He is strong on the boards. very strong, stronger than anyone else. His scoring average has gone up every season and has never been below 10 a season. With that kind of production from the 4, it could be worth the money.

I would do it - but I celebrate & consider the Boozer signing a stupid past move by the Jazz. I am certifiable crazy - I would do this. The upside is unreal. Boozer is a monster on the boards. He's not crazy like Artest is he?
On money level - Is he around 10 mil per season?

Extremely risky for our team, but it could potentially be extremely rewarding. Boozer is is hard-nosed, tough, and a good rebounder...more than making up for Yao's weaknesses.

The risk is that Boozer's has a 6 year 70 million contract. Something like that is very close to the max. With three players taking up all of our cap space until 2009 or 2010, we'll have to rely on the draft to fill our needs. Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Forget it. I don't like Boozer and his contract is a millstone. Moochie's coming off the books this summer.

isn't the problem with boozer in utah that he wants to be the first option in offense?..

i think wayne simien could be gained for vey little through the van gundy connection and miami just being decent (similiar to hawks dealing barry) to simien since they re/signed haslem and walker.

warriors are going to need some 1st round picks with the contracts they have. perhaps juwan + picks for fisher + pietrus.

Eesh...we'd be giving up our only PF performing up to par to add to our guard logjam. Pietrus would be a good backup to TMac though.

Fisher's a year younger than Juwan but his contract is two years longer ending in 2010. I think Howard has a player option so he can opt out in 2008 if he wants to.

Groom stro this year and trade him for a better PF, like Boozer.

    wow, actually a realistic trade.

too early to give up on stro. if anything we have to wait until the summer to trade him, otherwise how would we look?

i like the trade if money isn't an option. makes sense for both teams. taking on that contract makes the rockets think twice and possibly stick with stro for another year just for good measure.

I would think Utah could get more for Boozer than that. That sounds like they would be just dumping him. Not knocking your idea, I just have a hard time believing they would take Swift and Moochie for him. Not to mention, Swift doesn't seem like a Sloan type of player.

I would hope, if the Rockets make a trade, it would be for a guy like Morris Peterson. That would fill a more pressing need, IMO, in a legit SG who adds size to the backcourt and would give us a third scorer (especially if/when TMac is out becuase of his back). I would think you could offer a package like that, along with a pick, to Toronto and be able to get them to consider it. Maybe (not looking at salaries) Swift, Moochie, Wesley (or Anderson), Glover for MoPete, Loren Woods, Aaron Williams, Eric Williams?

How about just keeping stro and waiting a little longer to see what he's got

Yeah, I'd like to give Stro a little more than 1 MONTH before we trade him.

Of course, Memphis fans will tell you that what you see is what you get, but still...

Yeah, actually I'd be up for that trade. Just imagine a line-up of:

    Dwes? (Rafer,... whoever)
    Head
    Tmac
    Boozer
    Yao

I'm game to try that one out.

What a great idea! Let's tank the season less than 15 games into it for an unknown commodity! Not smart.

There are only 2 reasons you don't do this trade:

    1) Salary cap

    2) Injury concerns

And I think if you can get comfortable with 2, then you can ignore #1.

But, so much money for Carlos Boozer, you say. You're right, but Boozer gives you an actual legit PF. In his rookie season he did better than either Juwan or Stro are capable of giving us right now, and that was on a bad team. His FG% has always been above .500, and our biggest problem is shooting. Stromile has never shot above 50%. Juwan, in his 12th season now has never shot over 50%. And Boozer attacks the boards.

Granted, I don't know what the problems were with him last year, but he only managed to average 18 points, 9 boards a game. Maybe he wanted to be the number one scoring option, but hey, if you are going to shoot 52%, go ahead. Nothing wrong with a dude who thinks he should score more if he actually can.

I'd have to know his injury situation - he hadn't been injury prone until last year, but that aside, I'd do it.
