Just for the record, I am not whining like some others on here. Why I have respect for UT as a school, I have no respect for your fans. This is a prime example, Qazi and anyone else bashing my school for no apparent reason can KISS MY ASS!

BK--I think you'd need to donate $500 to get tickets for OU

UH is inferior in athletics and academics, period.

Since UT has such a poor reputation, then why are their Business & Engineering programs ranked so high? Why are their Graduate Business & Law programs ranked so high as well? Go check the academic reputations on the US News Reports and see for yourself...

I wouldn't bash UH the school, just the football program. You guys do nice work with the mentally disadvantaged.

I'm so very glad after this year Texas won't have to deal with Cougar High again, for several reasons :

    1) Rice alumni don't have such a tremendous chip on their shoulder as those from Cougar High.
    2) Rice's stadium won't have an engineering disaster on it that looks like it should be attached to a double-wide.
    3) Rice's players probably won't try to injure Texas players.
    4) I like the MOB.

Thats great, but read what I said, "I am not whining like some others on here". I realize some UH fans are doing the same thing as UT fans, but most of the comments from both at least have some intelligent point to them. I have alot of respect for UT the school, no respect for the arrogant ******* fans. Anyone that needs proof just read the whole thread. The only reason I posted in this thread to begin with was in retaliation to: "UH Sucks", which sounds like a comment from a monkey.

I could have gotten into A&M, UT, or UH. I chose UH because I am a Sports Management major and UH is 9th best in the country in that field. With that degree, I hopefully will be working for your Houston Rockets. If I would have gone to UT, my chances would be much slimmer. So try to understand that UH has some excellent majors, quite a few that exceed UT. How about respecting both schools academically since they are both great in their own right. Why dont you go bash A&M? Arent they your rivals anyway?

Everyone calm down and relax. Tenchi never dissed UT the school so stop getting your panties in a wad.

Can you come with something original? Everyone knows Darrell Royal never had the balls to stand up to the racist administration at UT.

    That's before my time man.

Tell your boy Keenan to another article.

Why are you watching UT football? Turn it off if you can't stand it.

Oh yeah we'll continue to recruit, and uh...live your football dreams through another school like Okie U.

I think if you would have gone to UT for business, you wouldn't be shutout of any sports type job. Heck, I got an advertising degree from UT, and I get compliments about that from whatever line of work I apply for. What you major in is really somewhat insignificant in what you will do with the rest of your life. Granted, I wouldn't be able to get a medical or engineering job, but everything else is fair game.

You weren't whining, but you commented on our fans and their behavior. I just pointed out that it was a cougar high alum that started this thread.

Undergrad advertising program was voted #1 by college professors across the country. Graduate Latin American studies program is also rather stout.

The only thing keeping us from the UM's, Berkely's, and UVa's of the world is that our liberal arts program might not be as strong and that our school is substantially larger than the 3 I just mentioned.

Like Kagy said, there's no need to bash U of H as a school. They don't have nearly as much money as A&M or UT. They do a good job with the little PUF funds they receive. It's sad because at one time UH was a respectable institution of learning. It had some distinguished faculty, a good local alumni base, and its' sports teams were receiving plenty of national attention. Phi Slamma Jamma put Houston on the map in basketball and Jack Pardee, although he cheated, fielded some talented football teams.

It's a shame that today UH has become nothing more than a commuter school where students are inactive in campus life and activities. Now that they've moved the football games back to Robertson Stadium, people are scared to walk back to their cars after night games. John Moores has poured in tons of money to try to revive the school. His contributions include a baseball field and a performing arts center. I hear the Hilton hotel and restaurant mgmt. school is good though.

Some of you Houston Rocket fans have shown your worst side in this thread. As someone intimately involved with the University of Houston for decades before I moved to Austin, I can remember the years of trying to get the U. of H. into the Southwest Conference. The major schools were against it. They weren't interested because they feared the athletic competition. It was a HUGE deal when Houston tied UT in Austin and after finally getting into the conference they DID win 3 of the first 4 titles in football. Most of you are obviously too young to remember anything about it, and that era must seem ancient history to you, unless your interested in a former University of Houston basketball player or two.

I'm up for being a fan and giving the other team a hard time. And the two teams are gettin' after it again tomorrow. So some razzin' is to be expected. This is a bit more than that. Houston has fallen on hard times and is having it tough trying to get back to having a respectable program. I disagree with some of the decisions made by the university and the AD's. But some of the talk and attitude of some of the posters in this thread, some who I have respected as posters in this and the other forums for some time, has been pathetic and juvenile to the extreme.

    Go Cougs.

I never mentioned anything about your academics. But...since ... ur saying that UH people are stupid. Aite. Im callin all y'all out. Let's drop an IQ test. And see how u fare. Lets go all the fools who were talkin trash about academics. Lets GO. Let me bust one on your head.
Do you know how the US News Rankings are done? The rankings are based on facilities, and student surveys.. UH doesn't get anything near the amount of money that UT gets per year from the state of Texas, so how can our facilities compare? The school is smaller as well. Yeah, its a commuter school, but on average we're some poor kids just tryin to get by in life. Boo Hoo? I ain't crying cuz of a football I got better things in life. But trash talk hell yeah Im gonna speak my mind. Just as how much I hate the Lakers, Blazers, Spurs, Cowboys, actually anything related to Dallas, Utah, and Liverpool, I hate the Longhorns. The school was fine. I loved living in Simkins. I enjoyed my time there, but the atmosphere at sports events were just horrible.

Damn, I'm right in the middle of this one, I went to UT for two years and I just transferred to UH, started this semester. One thing I gotta say to all you UT grads, maybe it wasn't that bad when you went there but the school is way overcrowded now and IMO, it definitely has a negative effect on the school's quality of education. UT is more hype than anything else, academically and with it's sports programs.

I just started this semester too. What are you majoring in? And to the last few UT posters, thank you for actully having intelligent posts, as opposed to some of your other counterparts. Thank god I finally have a few UH students/alum backing me up on this.

I'm a biology major, still undecided on whether I'd like to go into medical technology or become a physical therapist. I also have a dream of working for the Rockets (or anywhere in the NBA) but as a trainer, Keith Jones better watch his back. ;)
