hey synergy. I have a CD player from Pioneer with two slots. It is a CD recorder. I can also record analog = putting Vinyl and any other analog source on CD. But I guess any software that can do the same will be cheaper.

I once recorded some audio from a minidisc, via the line in on my pc, using Windows Sound recorder. It was only mono stuff, so I have no idea if you would get good quality, but it worked greaat. Sound recorder records as wavs so it is ready to be burned onto CD.
Low tech but it will work.

Sure. Just use Roxio Ez media creator, or Nero 6, or Musicmatch, or your cd authoring software of choice. The software usually has an option to record from the line-in jack on your pc, sometimes marked "record from analog source". You get a cable with a 1/8 in stereo line-in jack for your pc and the appropriate connectors (rca, 1/8) for your tape player. Check your recording levels (in your software's mixer) to make sure you don't end up with everything "clipping", ie, cutting off the highs and lows and distorting the sound. Press record on the software and press play on the tape player. The output from the player will be recorded as a wav file, mp3, or whatever you choose.
