Just curious how many people are on the Yao bandwagon this year. I know I am. I've changed my team to the rockets on nbalive and don't miss any of their games on Direct TV. Living in Orlando I get to see the best player on the planet play and I really didn't feel like thier has been but 2 other players like him in the league. A player that can make a big difference in a game. Now enter the Ming Dynasty. I love to watch him play. His confidence grows daily. I see him now trying to bully guys inside ala Shaq. The only difference between him being a stiff and being as good as he is right now is his mind. NBA is a mental game as much as physical. Ming right now has himself believing he can score. I love watching confident great basketball.. I feel like I'm watching history in the making. Rockets Fan Orlando.
EXCELLENT, ORIGINAL FIRST POST!!! i'd also like to know how many people here are "converted" rocket fans. what team were you a fan of before and what won you over to the "Rocket Universe"? great job orateam...keep up the good work!
Been a Rox fan all along. Now living in Boston for college but seeing how the Celtics crash out of the playoffs every year, don't think will be a Celtics convert any time soon.
I was a Spurs fan during their * year, but I've been a Lakers fan till the Mavericks came on strong and now that the've become beatable I have noone to cheer on so I became a Rockets fan *sarcastically noted* I hope.
Denver Rockets...jk i cant imagine when the rockets moved here and had to play in 3 different arenas. scary. like only 900 fans/game at the dome, almost none at the astrohall, and then constantly on the road, like san antonio or austin. but that would be awsoem to see basketball in the dome again.
celtics fan from mass. here. ever since houston drafted yao i've followed the C's less and less. now i cant wait to see yao dump 40 points on boston's non-existent center when he comes in town!!!!!!
I've always been a fan of Toronto... (VC is my fav player).. but since the arrival of Yao, he's quickly becoming my second favourite player... making the rocks my second fav team... I'm following all their games now...
Houstonian. Rockets fan ONLY, even in the bad times. Never been on the bandwagon, always been up front PULLING the bandwagon. We will add another trophy in the next 3-4 years!! Believe it!
I been a Rocket fan my whole life. I like the Spurs too because that is where I was born, but I live in College Station now(about 80 miles from Houston). I am a total Rocket fan, and watch everygame I can and spend way to much time on this board reading about the Rockets.
evers since the dream was here... wait that was b4 i was born... so ever since i was born... every one of those 18 years... and last year i moved out of Sugarland to Richmond VA,,, damn no basketball teams here. and no rox coverage.... Go Rox
Because of Yao, I like the Rockets. Originally i am a die hard Kings fan. Now I don't know who to cheer for in the next game between Kings and Rockets. I want the Kings to win but...i also want to the Rockets to win. So there u go! Tomorrow, I am hoping for a Kings win and Yao dominating!! But if Rox happen to win it, i am cool with it!
I've been a Rockets fan since day one. Since the doctor slapped me on the ass. Through the good and the bad. Even when that looser Knobby Quiten was a Rocket. I am so glad that we are finally getting the respect that we deserve. And its all thanks to Yoa Ming. Man,.......words cant describe the way i feel about this guy and his potential. I am also extremely happy to see people dropping their former favs to get in on the excitement that Yao and this team are bringing and will continue to bring for years to come.
Always have been a Rockets fan living in Boston, NY area. But I am not a blind fan. I am critical on their plays and mistakes. Big Hakeem and Yao Ming fan. Oh and I like other players in the league too but not necessarily the team they play for.
From LA, was lakers' fan then Mavs' , now is a Rockets'fan because of Yao Ming. I saw him play when he was very young. At that time,he was so timid, awkward, unpolished, cannot shoot within 1 foot to basket, but he was cute and funny.
I was a big Rockets fan until they lost Matt Bullard. Back when they had The Bull I ate, drank, slept, and drank Rockets. After Bull went to The Hornets, or what I call 'The Dark Ages' I went through an antiestablishment phase. I was sending hate mail, picketing, writing scathing letters to the editor, telling everybody around the water cooler how all of the Rockets brass were Nazi's or hermaphrodites or whatever. Then Stevie drew that lucky ball. I wrote a song about Yao Ming. I am actually freakin' studying Mandarin. I love the Rockets again. Chance PS-Ok I exagerated a little bit. I have been a Rockets die hard my whole life. PSS-I wasn't kidding about the Mandarin. Or the 'Dark Ages' reference. Damn I miss the Bull.
