I just read a second book on the story of Rudolf Hess and I am no more closer to a conclusion on what really happened to him than I was before the first book.

why would the British government seal the Hess documents untill 2017 if they had no role in his flight to Scotland? and why does Albert Speer seem like a bigger villian than anyone else surrounding Hess?

I kinda believe Hess was murdered at Spandau.....but, not certain???

anyone else ever read anything about Hess? A more informed opinion would be appreciated.

I love the Hess story, the Russians kept him in the prison until his death, but the rumors were it was not him, right?

My mind is kind of foggy on it.....something about scars disappearing etc.

Hess was kept in Berlin's humungous Spandau Prison.....even when he was the only prisoner.

Although the Russian aspect is another fascinating angle......which goes back to the sealed British documents. Some people, including Sefton Delmer, the wartime head of Britain's propaganda broadcasts to Germany, has speculated that the British government might have had good reasons for the secrecy, including a theory that Hitler sent Hess to negotiate a peace treaty with Churchill so that Germany could invade Russia without fighting another war with the Allies.
