This guy is every bit as much a terrorist as what we normally call a terrorist. Let's not distinguish.

I read another article about it and I think listening Tea Party representative continue to complain about how they are being unfairly blamed just set Fuller off. Fuller was out of line but not surprising considering he was one of those shots and his emotions are probably a lot rawer than most of us.

I'm sorry Fuller was a victim in the shooting, but what he did was flat out wrong. I understand his emotions are probably on edge because of the shooting, but maybe he should take some time off until he can maintain his cool.

An interesting part of the article for me was this.

Somehow he isn't making it political with that kind of talk?

fyi, i was responding to this originally. somehow the poster thinks that bullet holes are "visually exciting". i think you need to be pro violence to think that bullet holes are "visually exciting"

Well, okay, but "draw attention" /= "visually exciting," IMO.

part of toning down rhetoric means not putting the most inflammatory words possible in the mouths of others. (And by others here, I mean mostly sane people like StupidMoniker and ROXRAN, et alia... not Limbaugh, et insania alia.)

isn't "exciting" the opposite of "boring"?

SM complained that without the bullet holes, the ad was "visually boring".. so adding bullet holes will make it "visually exciting" for him

The articlesz I've read have all said that the Tea Party rep was recommending that any and all political fingerpointing should wait until after all the victims have their services so we don't have something like the Wellstone memorial. Then fuller stands up, snaps a picture of the rep, and says, "You're dead!" It doesn't sound like the rep did anything to warrant that sort of reaction. Personally I hope Fuller at least gets help for possible PTSD in exchange for dropped charges.

Adding graphics to a sign grabs the attention more than a plain text sign. Since the words on the sign are straight shooter, the graphics that go with that would be gun themed or speaking the truth themed. Bullet holes (in paper -or possibly some sort of black painted metal - it should be noted, not on a body) are easier to do and easier to understand as you are driving by than an abstract like truth. I suppose the graphics could have been speakers with truth coming out of them or a microphone with truth going in, but how do you make that without cluttering it up with more text?

you said for the particular ad, straight shooter = person speaking the truth
    and straight shooter <> guns

if straight shooter was really about the truth not guns, why put a gun-themed graphic and not a truth-themed graphic?

    obviously, a tea partier .

[rquoter]“Being around people who smoke pot, they tend to be a little paranoid,” Mr. Tidaback said. “I got that sense from him...

He became intrigued by antigovernment conspiracy theories, including that the Sept. 11 attacks were perpetrated by the government and that the country’s central banking system was enslaving its citizens. His anger would well up at the sight of President George W. Bush, or in discussing what he considered to be the nefarious designs of government.[/rquoter]

    he sounds like andymoon.

hilarious, tea partiers argue that the movement started because of bush bailing out the banks right?

I have never once claimed pot makes you paranoid, don't put much if any stock in conspiracy theories of any kind, believe that the Fed and central banking system we have makes the most sense for a capitalist economy, and can't remember the last time I discussed "nefarious designs of government" except on the TEA Party Patriots forum, where I was poo-poohing their talk of such designs.

0-4 on that comment, but that is just par for the course for you.

Did Public Enemy start the "anti-government" (oooh scary) hateful speech and violent imagery that led to the shooting in Arizona? They called the entire state racist and showed imagery of a man in the cross-hairs with their real life counterparts carrying machine guns. This vitriolic language must have been absolutely condemned by the left.

Public Enemy has blood on their hands.

I'm countin' down to the day deservin'
    Fittin' for a king
I'm waitin' for the time when I can
    Get to Arizona
    'Cause my money's spent on
    The ******* rent
Neither party is mine not the
    Jackass or the elephant
20.000 nig niggy nigas in the corner
Of the cell block but they come
    From California
Population none in the desert and sun
    Wit' a gun cracker
    Runnin' things under his thumb
    Starin' hard at the postcards
    Isn't it odd and unique?
Seein' people smile wild in the heat
    120 degree
    'Cause I wanna be free
    What's a smilin' fact
    When the whole state's racist
Why want a holiday F--k it 'cause I wanna
So what if I celebrate it standin' on a corner
    I ain't drinkin' no 40
    I B thinkin' time wit' a nine
    Until we get some land
    Call me the trigger man
    Looki lookin' for the governor
    Huh he ain't lovin' ya
    But here to trouble ya
    He's rubbin' ya wrong
    Get the point come along

An he can get to the joint
    I urinated on the state
While I was kickin' this song
Yeah, he appear to be fair
    The cracker over there
He try to keep it yesteryear
    The good ol' days
    The same ol' ways
    That kept us dyin'
Yes, you me myself and I'ndeed
What he need is a nosebleed
    Read between the lines
    Then you see the lie
    Politically planned
But understand that's all she wrote
When we see the real side
    That hide behind the vote
They can't understand why he the man
    I'm singin' 'bout a king
    They don't like it
When I decide to mike it
Wait I'm waitin' for the date
For the man who demands respect
    'Cause he was great c'mon
    I'm on the one mission
    To get a politician
To honor or he's a gonner
By the time I get to Arizona

I got 25 days to do it
If a wall in the sky
Just watch me go thru it
'Cause I gotta do what I gotta do
    PE number one
    Gets the job done
    When it's done and over
    Was because I drove'er
    Thru all the static
    Not stick but automatic
    That's the way it is
    He gotta get his
    Talin' MLK
    Gonna find a way
    Make the state pay
    Lookin' for the day
    Hard as it seems
    This ain't no damn dream
    Gotta know what I mean
    It's team against team
    Catch the light beam
    So I pray
    I pray everyday
I do and praise jah the maker
    Lookin' for culture
    I got but not here
    From jah maker
    Pushin' and shakin' the structure
    Bringin' down the babylon
    Hearin' the sucker
That make it hard for the brown
    The hard Boulova
    I need now
    More than ever now
    Who's sittin' on my freedah'
    Opressor people beater
    Piece of the pick
    We picked a piece
Of land that we deservin' now
Reparation a piece of the nation
And damn he got the nerve
Another niga they say and classify
    We want too much
My peep plus the whole nine is mine
Don't think I even double dutch
Here's a brother my attitude hit 'em
    Hang 'em high
Blowin' up the 90s started tickin' 86
When the blind get a mind
Better start and earn while we sing it
    Now
There will be the day we know those down and who will go
