Personally, I really liked Cuban when he came into the league and helped bring some recognition to the Mavs. I loved all the kooky thing he did and the fines he'd double everytime he got popped by Stern, but he's just annoying now. When you stop and think about it, IIRC, Dirk Nowitzki and either Finley or Nash (both?) were already in Dallas when he purchased the team. No doubt, he's brought excitement to the franchise, but . . . is he really that great of an owner?

As much as people hate Cuban, he is actually a pretty cool dude. Dallas fans love him because he will pull out the cash to get the players. He is by far the most passionate owner of his team and wants to do what it takes to win. Cuban also responds to emails from the fans through the Mavs site. When have you ever seen Les wear and Rockets jersey to a game, berate an official for making a call against his player, etc? Another tidbit of Cuban--he contributes a great deal of money to charitable causes to include personally helping the widows of Marines/soldiers killed in the war. I personally know 1 such family that suffered a heartbreaking loss of their Marine (one that died saving his comrades) and Mark Cuban heard the story providing for his surviving family and not making it into a publicity stunt. I hate the Mavs as a team but respect the hell out of Cuban. Now with that said, God I'm glad the Warriors knocked off the Mavs and I truly despise Dirk the Flopper Nowitzki!

Agreed. I think Cuban is a great owner, and has some great ideas on how to help the NBA grow as a business. Though him and Stern butt heads so much, so Cuban cant do to much. I remember seeing I think it was the Chris Meyers Interview with Cuban, Cuban talked about how hes made anonymous donations to families. I think its cool that he'll respond to fans e-mails as well.

Edit: Also when there was talk earlier about him buying the Pirates, I know he said he would love to take them or the Cubs. If that ever happend, watch out NL Central. Like Aggie said, he'll put the money into making a winning team.

he is a good owner being that he is very ethuasitic about his team and care about it, however, he acts like a d-bag about everything else, so hate him for that.
