If you haven't heard, Kliff Kingsbury is now the Big 12 career leader in passing and total yards. He surpassed Major Applewhite on Saturday. Big 12 Career Yardage (as of 9/17/02) --- 1) Kingsbury, Tech (99-02): 8,392 2) Applewhite, Tex (98-01): 8,353* * - benched senior year by head coach
Kingsbury was also benched against SMU two weeks ago. I guess if you throw enough dinky four-yard passes it's easy to set the record for passing yards. Not to mention he throws the ball like 45 times a game.
There's a difference between being benched for a series and a whole year but I digress... Kingsbury breaking Major's record with more games played and in a spread offense just makes you realize what Major accomplished at Texas. In conclusion, congrats to Kliff. I really hope he eclipses 10,000.
I agree..it certainly is...but the comparisons are ripe for the picking anytime something like this happens...and if I had the choice...well, you know what i think!
ATT-COMP YDS TD Kingsbury 835-1302 8392 58 Applewhite 611-1065 8353 60 Hmmm....seems like it took Kliff Klaven a few more throws to get there....
yeah, what a puss, he only just broke a pretty nice record. And how many Big XII records have you broken?
haha....you do have to admit they're the 4th best team in the south though.......at least they're better than Okie state and Baylor though.....
ATT-COMP YDS TD Kingsbury 835-1302 8392 58 Applewhite 611-1065 8353 60 Hmmm....seems like it took Kliff Klaven a few more throws to get there.... He also didn't quite have the same receiving corps that UT had the last couple of years.
I won't admit that TTU is worse than a n m at this point, but you may be right that they are the 4th best team in the Big 12 South. But being the 4th best team in the B12 South is not SUCKING. 1,2, and 3 are all ranked in the top 25. I wouldn't say TTU SUCKS this year.
Let's put it this way: Not close to last year, and a very mediocre team with not much D(wow, sounds just like Colorado)
Kliff is a good QB. I'm not saying that he's better than Major...but it will be interesting to see if he can make it on the next level. He's better than a few NFL QBs right now (Quincy Carter...)
I don't know about tech being better than OSU or A&M, but if Tech beats A&M, it is going to be a sight to see...I wish I could witness that in person... Anyways, Major is a legend, Kliff is far from...
Maybe those "classy" Tech fans will shove the goalpost into the A&M section of the stands again. What jackasses.
