My girlfriends' computer has crashed and I think a new computer would be a perfect birthday present for her. She already has a monitor, printer, speakers, keyboard, mouse, etc. All she needs is the desktop. Is there anything out there I can get for like $200 or cheaper? It doesn't need to have a lot of space or be anything fancy at all. The only thing she uses hers for is to check email and put CDs onto her iPod. She uses her work laptop for everything else. Hell, she actually has DIAL UP, so like I said, it doesn't have to be anything fancy AT ALL. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I wouldn't buy her a computer. $200 could buy a lot of other cool chick stuff. Would you rather her tell her friends that you bought her this and that and this and that or this POS $200 desktop. Think about it.
http://shop1.outpost.com/product/5230247?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG It's actually $280. You have to add it to the cart for that price to show up.
Buy a good 2-3 year old workstations on ebay locally for under $50. You can get them for $25 sometimes.
This cheap enough? http://www.forbes.com/2007/05/16/ch...x_ag_0516cheappc_slide_2.html?thisspeed=25000
don't waste your money! I wouldn't throw that old desktop(I call it the console). It may be just the HD that died so you can just replace that for like REALLY REALLY REALLY CHEAP. My sis PC crashed last year but it was just the HD that died, which I replaced it (for free since my firend have plenty old one) and its working fine. I'm not saying it gonna be HD it could be anything. You just gotta test it.
Speaking of really cheap computers, I'm looking to replace my notebook. I need something to last me another 4 years. I'm no computer wiz, but want something cheap, but still good... how does this Compaq deal or this Toshiba deal look?
i bought a used iMac that im using now for $60 at Directron, didnt come with a keyboard or mouse, but works beautifully sucks with watching video, but im sure that can be fixed with more memory
