Yea i just reformatted my computer and i had to factory restored. When i did that it gave me MSN back when i dont need it since i have Road Runner. Its not installed but there is an icon on my desktop for MSN. I was wondering how i can get rid of it so i dont have to open it up and create a new account and so forth. I tried right clicking and deleting but it doesnt give me an option to delete it.

    Wow. That's a tough one.

I'm surprised you figured out how to post a reply here on the BBS. ;)

    Read c-l-o-s-e-l-y and c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y. This information is h-a-r-d t-o f-o-l-l-o-w.

    Drag icon to Recyle Bin.

    Yeah see if that works.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but it had to be done.

Assuming its not installed, it shouldn't show up on add/remove. Have you tried just pushin delete after selecting the file. Also, check the properties make sure its not a read only file. Other then that, I don't know how to help you.

    From the Web:

Note you should backup your registry or have a way to "undo" system changes before you start.

Here is how you'll delete the icon.

    1) go to start menu and then click on run.

    2) type in regedit

It will open into the windows registry program

    3) follow these directories: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\

    4) when you get to the namespace directory, right click on its subdirectory: {88667D10-10F0-11D0-8150-00AA00BF8457} and press delete.

    5) after confirming the delete, exit the registry editing program and go back to your desktop. Refresh the your desktop by pressing F5. Hopefully, the annoying icon will disappear. You should restart your computer.

    Pretty crappy of MS, IMO.
