A very frustrating one! I have a HP Pavilion and I use Everyone's Internet dialup. A couple of days ago, a strange thing started happening. While I'm on the internet, my computer will restart for no reason. Only happens while I am dialed in on EV1. Doesn't matter what website I'm on either. When it started happening, I went to Microsofts website and downloaded all of the latest patches and security fixes for Windows XP but it is still happening. Clearing my internet cache (deleting temp files, etc.) helps temporarily but then it comes back. VERY frustrating. EV1's tech support was as helpful as a screen door in a submarine. Any ideas? Thanks!
Search back a few days. Either someone else here had the same problem or I'm having a crazy case of the vuja de.
HP tech support just walked me through blowing away my modem driver and resinstalling it. So far so good. I surfed some of the pages where the problem occurred and everything worked fine, and I even had multiple pages open. I may have to get into the habit of re-doing the driver every couple of months.
