I didnt see this before, so let me cover this eventuality real quick

What is described above is VERY UNLIKLEY to be a problem for most of you.

It is a very unusual occurance for the CMOS chip that contains your BIOS to go bad, sometimes the BIOS programming may get corrupted if you are an overclocker, but most folks that dont jack with their computers will never ever have to deal with CMOS replacement.

kam, save the old box if ya still have it

next time we are in the same place, bring it with you and Ill see if anything can be salvaged from your drive,

I wondered where the heck you had been. I thought they had caught you in one of those child superhotcutie15 stings and no one had bailed you out yet.

Speaking of, my laptop went out last monday. At first it said is couldn't find the OS. Then I screwed around a bit with it and got it back up to where I was able to boot it up using the "start windows the last time it worked normally. Then it would operate like normal for 5 minutes before I'd get the blue screen of death. Tried to system restore, but I kept getting a blue screen after that. Then after a half dozen tries, it went back to the black screen saying it couldn't locate the OS.

Tried to screw around in BIOS, but that just seemed to change the black screen's message. Now when I turn it on, I only get a black screen saying it is unable to reroot.

    Any help?
