Just .02 worth from me, According to my hardware instructor, low level formatting of any newer hard drive will significantly reduce its life and the stability of anything you try to store there....it has something to do with the way high-capacity drives arrange their sectors and tracks...I can't get terribly in depth here but, it is definitely not a good idea...stick to Fdisk, format , and reinstall from the Dell restore disc. Well, I called Dell Saturday. The lady (who sounded like she didn't want to be there), told me I needed 3 other disks to load drivers. I had a feeling sh was wrong. I called back tonight, and sure enough, all I needed was my resource disk. Everything is back to normal.
