Will keep this short and simple.....

I used to run Kaaza lite on my computer.

My 20 gig Hardrive crashed, not because of Kaaza, but due to age. (6 years)

Now I have a new 200 gig hardrive to support my ACAD programs and all the junk I can pile up into this sucker.

What's the best free downloadable P2P available. Kaazalite was becoming a pain in the ass with all of the spoofs around.

I have heard about E Donkey and some others? Are they overloaded with spoofs too? Can I find a wide range of songs/movies etc? Are they better then Kazza? (I assume so now)

Guys...help me out here. I Gotta list of songs waiting to be burned.....

You are looking for a program called Lime-Wire then. Most of the spoofs on that will show their "Speed" as T3 or Greater

    Thanks for the reply Angle...

Is fiding what you're loooking for easy to fo on LimeWire? Nevermind finding most mainstream top40 stuff that hot right now, I like to look up alot of old-school....some mihgt remember the "Ill and Al Skratch" thread a few months back. It took a while to fid it on Kaazalite, but I found the aptly titled "Where my Homiez."

And that was one thing I liked with KaazaLite, no matter how old or rare the song, I could always find it there. Can LimeWire equal or surpass this?

Soulseek is pretty good. So is Ares Lite. For complete albums use torrent sites like mininova.org

    Soulseek

    EDonkey
    Ares

can someone rate these.....I was planning on going with just one. But now I do have the space, so I might go with more then one. Who's worth the space....

I have used Soulseek, LimeWire, and Ares.

I would rank from best to worst: Ares, Soulseek and then Limewire.

At one point Soulseek was the best, but then too many spoofs got on board. Ares so far for me has been very good for individual songs.

Not sure what Ares you downloaded, but when I just searched for Fat Joe about 200 results popped up in less than 2 seconds.

    Try downloading it from here:

Have you considered Kazaa Lite? I still have the old version without the bugs and advertisements and could share it if you'd like. It's a decent document finder and I haven't had any problems with it.

    :D

Seriously though, I use Limewire and never have a problem with it. I used to be a Kazaa Lite fan but once I switched over to Limewire I never looked back.

:D I knew you'd catch that... but I meant I had the one without the bugs. All subsequent releases had the advertisements and were taken away by the "real Kazaa" people because it gave them no money... but I see your point.

Actually, this was the version I had, no advertisments and such, just downlaods....transferred to me by a friend. I saved the install to a disc just in case if I needed it in the future. Naturally, when I needed it last week, I couldnt find it. I'm sure Ill run in to it seven years later when I dont need it or something like that.....

KLite was a very good program and I had no problems with it, untill recently, when it became flooded by "spoofs." After that, finding a song was hit or miss and a little time consuming and frustrating. I still didnt have much of a problem with it and I would have kept running KLite had my hardrive not crashed. But after that, I decided to shop around and see what other P2P was out there and give it a try. I'm pretty satisified with Ares lite. Once again, thanks to all for all the help.....
