I think this is the first time that I've actually asked for computer help on the bbs.

    problem:

My BitTorrent client (BitTornado) has always treated me well; however...

Recently, all of my BT downloads have been going very slow (like 1k), and BitTornado now always shows a yellow indicator (It used to always be green) According to the BitTornado help, this means that I "have not received any incoming connections from others. It may only be because no one has tried. If you never see the status light turn green, it may indicate your system is behind a firewall or proxy server. Please look into routing BitTorrent through your firewall in order to receive the best possible download rate."

I haven't made any changes to my computer or network setup.
I've checked my hardware firewall. The appropriate ports are open (6881 - 6999).
I cycled power to my firewall and cablemodem, just in case.
    I ran a anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-adware check on my machine - it's perfectly clean.
I checked to make sure that Windows XP firewall is still disabled on my machine (it's still disabled).

I'm not sure what else to do.

if you have a router, you probably need to port forward...

and also, use bitcomet, or utorrent

    MUCH better clients.

I checked it, and it was configured properly...

    However...

As I browsed around in the hardware firewall settings I soon discovered that my firewall had been hacked.

I downloaded new firmware for the router and gave it a new password (hopefully, this one will be more difficult to hack).

Just started up a torrent and it's got a green light. Yaay!

I would be wary of these Chinese hackers. They are sponsored by the PRC.
