What kind of error are you getting when you boot up. Does it say anything on the screen when it doesn't boot up? That way i can see where to go from here.

If you don't touch anything, there is a program out there that can UNDELETE whatever was "deleted". You will have to shell out some money, though.

    http://www.winrecovery.com/
    and
Diskeeper are the leading programs, I think. We've used a program at work that does it over the network, but I don't remember the name. It will cost you at least the price of the software to recover your files. Working on finding you a "free" one... though I doubt there is one...

MAN. :( What reasons did she have for doing such treachery?

OH, SHOOT. I just went back to read your initial post. She inserted what disc, the RESTORE ONE? TOUGH LUCK. There is NO WAY now. :(

If you have a restore point maybe
    but
if she formatted you may have to pay someone to extract it
    and it is expensive

If you're talking about a system restore point, you can try it, but it won't work if she wiped the drive.

Tell me about it when we lost our drive with our business quickbooks file on it...about 400 bucks for one freaking file....

Now we back it up at 4 different locations on 4 different drives lol.

Two wrongs don't make a right. :( I don't want to encourage you to do bad stuff.

Just tell her "she better watch out for HER stuff." She'll be EXPECTING it and that will be worse than you actually doing anything. Keep reminding her of what she did and how badly you will get back with her and her laptop... it will bother her... I bet you.

Go in her purse, take out any condoms you see and poke holes with a needle.

Sure, the consequences might suck, but hey, at least you'll be laughing. :)
