I think it's spyware... see if you have a "WINY" directory on your hard drive - maybe in your "C:\Program Files" directory.

    So lemme get this straight...

    1) Yes, there is a "WINY" directory.
    2) No, Ad-aware didn't detect it.

Right? If Ad-aware didn't detect it, I can see why... I think this thing is fairly new. If you just deleted the WINY directory and that solved everything, ignore the rest of this post (except the part down below about downloading Spybot - SD).

    If not, try this :

    1) Hit the "Start" button in your Windows menubar/tray.
    2) Select "Run"
    3) Type in "msconfig"
    4) Select the "Startup" tab on the msconfig tool
    5) Scan for anything with "WINY" or "TGDC" in it.
    6) Uncheck anything with "WINY" or "TGDC" in it.
    7) Hit the "Apply" button.

Reboot and see if the thing is still running in memory. If not, go to the "WINY" directory and try to delete everything in there. This may be tough, especially if it loads other stuff into memory from that directory.

You can also try to download a spyware removal utility called "Spybot - Search and Destroy" :

    http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=download

Update it first after you install it (there's an online update feature in the application). Then run it and see what it finds.

Oh... and do all this at your own risk... just don't blame me if you end up frying your Windoze installation. :D
