I vetoed a trade in my league and now have both of the guys involved pissed off..

    Team A
    Davis, Dale (FC-Por)
    McGrady, Tracy (GF-Orl)
    Stojakovic, Predrag (GF-Sac)
    Williams, Jason (PG-Mem)

    trade

    Team B
    Iverson, Allen (SG-Phi)
    O'Neal, Jermaine (FC-Ind)

    Team A is is giving away a difference of 1900pts 826reb 741ast. and 160stl

    Trade seems like a no-brainer for a veto to me..What do ya'll think ?

BTW it's a head to head league that scores in individual stat categorys ..like pts..fg% Reb .etc.

You have to look at each team's roster also...

Dale Davis and Jason Williams have very little fantasy value, if you are in a 10-team like like in Yahoo.

It's obvious that Team A is looking to shore up the C position, and is willing to trade for it. If Team A is already set at SG/SF, then they can definitely afford to give up a peja or t-mac for O'Neal.

Again, don't pay any attention to Davis and Williams, unless there were no roster limits.

    Let them deal...

yahoo is actually has 12 team leagues.

but the trade is close enough nonetheless. i'd let it go if i was commish. jermaine is a major fantasy stud being he's listed as a center...and ivy could have a great year if he stays healthy.

Contrary to popular belief, JWill and Davis hold more value in a Yahoo league than they normally would due to their positional rankings and the # of teams in a league.

Look at who the team getting the 4 players would drop. If they are both crappy players, then it's obviously a candidate for a veto. Otherwise, play it by ear...and if they don't like your decision, then it's too bad for them - after all, you have commish power.

I agree with mfclark about J-Will holding a good deal of value, but Davis isn't much to talk about. As for O'Neal, you guys are overestimating his worth. On that stacked Pacers team he is a little better than Peja, but not by a large margin. Iverson and McGrady are a push.

I'd let it go only if Team B throws in another average player to balance things out.

the only reason you should veto trades are for reason such as one guy is tanking the league and he is letting another guy have his stars.

Would Dale Davis or J-Will even start for either teams? If not, then it's a moot point...

Well it's head to head and you play the other team for a week..You can start as many players as you want ..so yes Davis and JWill both have value..

I think team B would get the better deal even without Davis and Jwill

It's obvious to me that owner of team A is not as knowledgeable as he could be.. LOL he thought I vetoed it because it was unfair in his favor. My guess is that he just sees iverson as the big name..Iverson is one dimensional and Oneal will kill you in the ft line..Both those other guys are solid all around then throw in 8 reb from Davis and 8 ast from Williams and the trade is lopsided as hell.
