How are you guys keeping your system clean?

I just started taking some fiber supplements (psyllium husk) because I can't seem to get enough fiber in my daily diet. And I can't stay away from red meat either.

I've never taken any product meant to make you regular before. Anyone who has, do you feel it's worth it/beneficial?

Also, seeing as how this topic vaguely relates to poo, feel free to go off in that direction too, as I know most of you probably want to.

I eat oatmeal or a homemade smoothie every morning..

Try to cook once or twice a week.

    No fast food, no soda...

Perhaps you should ask hotballa about the trials and tribulations* of colon care.

I take a dump when the urge strikes me. Keeps that colon clean as a whistle. Seriously, all of this colon cleansing stuff is BS. Nothing stays in your colon. There is no build up. This is the livelyhood of snake-oil salesmen and con men.

I don't eat anything other than wheat bread and avoid Beef.

I eat a lot of fruit and stay away from saturated fats.

psyllium on a regular basis is where its at.

Of course, you still need fiber from other places and you should still eat healthy.

Plenty of water is also very important.

I keed. I keed. I am 34... is it too early to have a doctor take a look-see?

And I agree with the Rookie.

I'm not talking about colon cleansing, where they pull out stringy black poo sausages, that stuff definitely is BS. But digestive health is a legitimate issue.

hey, you can never start fiber supplements too early.

I'm not sure if 34 is too young, but i suppose its better safe than sorry...although if you want the doctor to take a look-see every month then you have another issue

If you are sick, you need advise from a doctor, not a basketball BBS. If you are not sick, you don't need to do anything but take a dump.

I'm 33 and I've been doing it for a while now, never a bad thing to have your system cleaned out on a regular basis.

I'm sure you speak from your wealth of experience as a doctor and nutritionist, as well as your extensive knowledge of everyone's dietary habits.

NO ONE is going to look at my COLON... er... monthly.

I don't have a problem with it now... I have flawless victories upon completing with my duties in the can, sir. No need to report that to him until we have something to report (name that movie - difficulty: moderate).
