I think TheCat must be really enjoying this game. All the reasons that he's backed up Collier have surfaced in this game. Good shooting and rebounding by Collier. ------------------ president of the dan langhi fan club.
I'm here to eat my crow... I bashed Collier... I'm glad to see him doing well! I can accept being wrong if it means Collier helps us out! ------------------
I didn't see the game, but from the looks of Hakeem's box score I would like to say one thing to my doubting self: "Eat sh*t and die." I can't believe it. I said that anyone who thought Hakeem would help the Rockets win was on very powerful drugs. I must be wrong. (I still wouldn't put money on him yet, but I guess that I am now open to persuasion.)
"Collier Offensive rebound" Thats 2 games now that I have noticed Jason crashing the boards after a teammate shoots, hes runing the floor well to.I already knew he had a good mid-range jumper but he hasent really proven he can do anything else. I have this theory and it is that Collier wasent quiet ready for NBA play yet and now that hes getting in better shape hes starting to play better and will continue to play better with time. ------------------
It was a exceptional night for both Collier and Olajuwon. I only caught the 2nd half but and was shocked when I saw the score. By the time Collier was pulled, I was wondering why everyone was cheering for him until they showed his rebounds and points. Niiiiiice. ------------------ Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!
I said that until Collier stepped up against a good center I would think that he was a mistake. He stepped up. But that was still only one game, of the regular season. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online vote.cuttino-mobley.com Cuttino and Steve for 2001 All-Star Team
From listening, it seems both Hakeem and Collier got some key offensive boards. I am still a little worried about Hakeem not getting any lift. Why are we beating mid-level and up teams and loosing to the Clippers? 3-2 makes me feel much better than 2-3. ------------------
I've been pro-Collier from Day 1, but will readily state that one game is not a career -whether that game is a good one or a bad one. He still has a long way to go. He's a big kid with range who will set picks out front. He was not the best athlete available at 15, but he was a good fit and we finally got to see why! ------------------ GATER
Damn you Kidrock8!!! You took all of the fun out of it for me (with respect to Collier doing well...as I told you you were saying he wouldn't too soon)!!! So how do you eat your crow? ------------------ Vice-president of the Jason Collier Police
i apologize. Collier hands are bigger than Kevin Willis's. What a night to shoot for five-hundred posts...better go see whats going on in Comets Quest. hee-hee ------------------
Just got back from the game... This is the Collier I had seen at Georgia Tech that I was telling you guys about. The one with an excellent outside jumper, the ability to set rock solid screens, be agressive on the glass, and pull big centers like Shaq out of the lane. It's still a learning process, and there will still probably be some times you get frustrated with him. But when you do, go back to this game. He has good potential. But like most other rookies, it takes time. Just don't jump all over him like you have been lately after one game. GO ROCKETS! ------------------ President of the Jason Collier police! What a great day! Bush wins, Rockets beat the Fakers, and the arena passes! Is there room on the Collier bandwagon? ------------------
With all the PT that collier has been receiving, why hasn't Langhi come off the IR. Afterall, with cato missing for another month, we could sure use his presence at the 3 spot... or do we have that covered with shandon and bull? Congrats though, with this make-shift lineup and the fact that we're missing 2 starters... I'm proud that the rocks won this one. -elie17 ------------------ Oh.. so this is how you add a signature huh? coo coo.
Langhi has to stay on the IR for at least 5 games before he can come off. It won't be long now, and everyone will be hailing Rudy as a drafting genius! ------------------ She hates testicles, thus limiting the men she can admire to Democratic candidates for president. -- John Greenway, "The American Tradition", on feminist Elizabeth Gould Davis

Collier playing well against Shaq should adn I stress the word should silence the critics and increase the trust in Rudy. I'll admit I was not expecting him to have this type of game, I was more in the mind set of him slowly improving over the year. Granted this doesn't mean Jason will rip apart every center the entire season, but I am very optimistic with what I saw. ------------------ MOO Bush and Gore make me want to Ralph votenader.com [This message has been edited by DEANBCURTIS (edited November 08, 2000).]
I thought Collier played a good game, but this early in the season I try not to get to high after wins and not to low after losses {ok I`m thrilled as hell we beat the fakers} Now I would like to see Collier put a few good games together, get more confidence and be a weapon as the season progresses. ------------------
What should be more encouraging for Jason is the standing ovation he got after he fouled out. Gestures like these do wonders for one's confidence and we can only hope that he builds upon it. I liked the Collier that I saw last night! If he puts those numbers up every day...he'll outshine the 15 others picked before him -tariq ------------------
You know, Collier hasn't played badly at all in his limited minutes before last night. I've said before that he is a rookie and big men typically take longer to develop. He has some very nice tools to work with. Now, let me tell you what really impressed me about last night, regarding Collier. Think about this. Here is a kid who has had some horrible things said about him like "he's too slow, he's too soft, he's too fat, he's garbage, he's crap, he couldn't help any NBA team at all, he looks like he's mentally r****ded." The justification for his selection in the draft was that he has an outside shot that can pull other centers away from the basket. Shaq. His defining moment at this point. He comes into the game, sets a screen and stands by his lonesome, knowing that his essence is to hit shots like that, because Shaq is camped underneath. Is that pressure? Huh? Swish. That was so sweet. This one game certainly doesn't make him. But it should help his confidence a lot. Anybody think confidence is important? ------------------
