I just got accepted into a screenwriting course (3 years) at RMIT (Royal Melbourne University of Technology). So, I'm pretty stoked at the moment. Good luck to all those applying in the States and overseas. And congratulations to all those who have been accepted.
Very impressive. Talk about tough decisions...Stanford offers more fun at a university with comparabe prestige, MIT is unbeatable if you're interested in going into tech in the future, and Harvard is very tough to turn down. What school did you end up choosing?
I can't see how; colleges have no way of verifying them, and even if they did they don't have the time or people to call and check them. I could have filled my applications with total bull****, but I couldn't think of anything clever enough. I guess that's why test scores matter so much.
YES! Extracurricular activities are a BIG bonus in admissions. Being involved shows that you are a "well rounded" student. Colleges LOVE that kind of stuff - especially if you have an afterschool job (it shows discipline and hard work ). And don't listen to Mooch. Don't lie on your app. If you don't have activities, it's not the end of the world - you might want to have something else to make up for the lack in after school stuff - but it's not 100% vital.
I've thought about applying to some larger universities this year... Have any of you guys ever transferred to another university after two years and been awarded any type of scholarship from the university you transferred to? I go to the University of Central Arkansas, which really isn't a bad place, but I'd like to get out of Arkansas. My GPA after 3 semesters is a 4.0 and I'm a history major and also a member of the honors college. If I applied to some bigger state schools in Texas do you think I would get any type of scholarship? I probably will stay where I'm at seeing how I have a full paid scholarship there, but I have been thinking about transferring for a while.
All right lets get this thread heated up I have a few questions. I moved to Virginia from Houston in September 2001. Am I a resident of VA or TX. I sure would love if my eligibility remained for TX. Ok #2) I live with my uncle and his family, he is my legal gaurdian now. My parents moved overseas. He signs most forms at school as my parents usually would. Now the question is on the Fafsa and other college appllications when they ask about Financial stuff about parents whose info do I put. My uncle, has one daughter who is like 4yeas old, and makes a ****load of money, so I dont see any aid coming with his info in. On the other hand my dad doesnt make quite as much, and I have 3 other siblings, and one In college. (A&M if you want ot know) and my dad will be the one paying for my college. so whose info do I put, am I allowed to put my dads info in, or am I stuck with my uncles info. Its soooo confusing and its frankly starting to piss me off. but without the aid , my parents wont be able to pay for both of our education (as well as the price of my younger brothers going to an american school in saudi, ) so anyone with info pls help Thx much
