http://www.coca-colablak.com/us/index.jsp This looks disgusting. http://orlando.bizjournals.com/orlando/stories/2006/03/13/daily46.html Coke set to launch coffee-cola fusion drink Orlando Business Journal - March 17, 2006 Coca-Cola Blak is ready for its American debut. After launching in France earlier this year, the Atlanta beverage company's (NYSE: KO) new carbonated coffee-coke fusion drink will be available in the United States starting April 3. "There is no other beverage available today quite like Coca-Cola Blak," said Katie Bayne, senior vice president with Coca-Cola North America. "Imagine the refreshing taste of an ice-cold Coca-Cola that finishes with a rich essence of coffee. Only Coca-Cola can deliver that distinct combination of flavors." For its U.S. launch, Coke reformulated Coca-Cola Blak to appeal to American tastes, it said. The product comes in a bottle that resembles the famous Coke contour bottle, but with black and gold accents. It will be sold in four-packs and individually. When The Coca-Cola Co. reported a $4.8 billion profit for 2005, it also noted improvement in the coffee and tea arena would be a key focus for 2006. Coca-Cola also may be looking to pick a fight with Starbucks Corp. (NASDAQ: SBUX). Coke has been investigating for two years ways to brew high-quality coffee, espresso and teas quickly in individual servings. The company filed five U.S. patent applications in 2005 for coffee and tea "pod" designs, single-serving brewing machines, and a system to steam milk to make hot espresso and cappuccino. Coca-Cola already has been awarded two patents.
I'm ready for this stuff. Apparently, it's coming out sometime in April, but Dr. Pepper is ebaying off the first few cases. Supposedly, it's really smooth and delicious. Dr. Pepper: Berries and Cream
I thought Coca Cola was already black? (blak? blaque?) This new designer soda crap is getting out of hand. I think that caramel pomegranite mango coca cola is set to hit stores this fall...
actually it sounds really odd but sometimes i like to get some cheap gas station coffee and a dr. pepper and chase the coffee with a swig of dr. pepper. no mixing only chasing.
Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero (or is it C2 or whatever), Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke (which became Black Cherry Vanilla Coke), Coke w/ Lime and now Coke Blak. Thats way too much variety for my tastes. I'll stick to the classics..coke and cherry coke and an occasional Diet if if have to.
Does Coca-Cola feel that they have to change the flavor in the US because the Americans do not have as sophisticated tastes in coffee as Europeans?
