Ok, I admit, I have not read all the dozens of threads and hundreds of posts, so if someone else has already mentioned this, then I apologize and kill it.

But did anyone else catch that bit when Bull was showing the shots of the guys from Spinal Tap, and mentioned he was going to see their show?

And then Clyde butts in with:

"Spinal tap.. is that before or after pregnancy? heh heh heh..."

Followed by a few seconds of stunned silence by Bull and Bill.

I mean, this is so unfair - one of the greatest playoff performances this team has ever given, and my over-riding memory from the game is that comment from Clyde.. how sad is that?

    :D

Honestly, the guy really stuns me. I love it when he puts his foot in his mouth.

Honestly. Can someone explain Clyde's thought processes that lead him to that question?

Please someone take a crack at it. Anyone?

No way. The ESPN feed was my only option and I'd rather listen to Clyde singing Spinal Tap songs than listen to Doris again.

Haha someone actually made a comedic flow chart of Clyde's thought process, if someone could dig it up, that'd be great...

Good thing? Those announcers and analysts gave ZERO respect to the Rockets. The half-time show was about the Bulls win over the Celtics and Lebron's 30 point performance against whoever the hell they're playing. Avery began the half-time show by mentioning the Rockets domination over the Blazers for a grand total of 10 seconds. They immediately made the switch to the other games after Avery's short intro without an in-depth analysis or anything. Big big difference when compared to the Lakers-Jazz half time show. The Lakers-Jazz half-time show not only analyzed the Lakers gameplan but also aired a nice little documentary on Kobe's life growing up in Philly. What relevance does his childhood in Philly have on the Lakers-Jazz series? I don't get it. Yao is the biggest cash cow in the NBA and they don't even mention his historical night? WOW. I pray JVG and Miller are the commentators for the next few games...those are the only two guys that actually give due respect. During the game the announcers were simply attempting to find excuses for the Blazer's poor performance and downplayed the facts which were complete DOMINATION by the Rockets.

You know, seeing Clyde make stupid comment after stupid comment this season behind the mic, it really makes me wonder what that 2nd championship and subsequent teams were like with him there. Was he constantly making weird, confusing jokes that no one got? Perhaps followed by nervous laughter and people looking away, embarassed for him? I'd like to think that a guy like Mario Elie, who is a pretty sharp guy, just looked on in disgusted silence every time Clyde busted out some weird sexual reference when Rudy was discussing their "inside/out" offensive strategy.

There are some things that Clyde says that are just un-explainable.

Someone got a podcast clip for that? Drexler seems to be a must listen for the pure unintentional comedy aspect of it these days.

Hey Bull, mention something about Nirvana and Kurt Cobain next time...I'm willing to bet Drexler will make some Heaven/reaching the pinnacle of a career Drexlerism...

That's why I watched ESPN. The white level was soooo high on the local broadcast. Had the projector down from +30 to -5 brightness, and it was still washed out. General rule during the season was that I'd rather watch the local guys if it was Bull and National if it was Clyde, so having both was a decision.

Just b/c the good lord blessed you with the incredible athleticism to be a HOF player doesn't mean he granted the same blessing between the ears. I think Clyde proves this point loud and clear.

Clyde is an awesome commentator. If you enjoy bland basketball analysis, I guess you're not a fan of Clyde. I don't really care to hear about statistics all game long. This is why Clyde and JVG are my favorite commentators.

It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever.
