This is a message for those that are like many I know that have already ruled our beloved rockets out. May I point you to 9 years ago....the number 6 seed...4 50 win teams in their midst....who else REALLY thought they could do it besides diehard rocket fans? If the Rockets are gonna win another ring this year, theyre almost definetely going to have to beat another four 50 win teams. whys that so impossible? we're clutchcity, sure we dont have dream and we dont have clyde, and once again we dont have dream :( but you know what, screw it we're clutchcity and we should believe. so quit writing this team out until they acutally lose four games...its playoff time so lets just sit back and wait for the robert horrys of the world to emerge on our squad. If we lose, we were supposed to...If we win, lets at least be able to say that we knew it all along

    Believe again.

I wish I still had those signs from 95 from the Post (or was it the Chronicle?)

I still have about 10 of them!! "Believe Again," and "Clutch City."

I'm going to the game on Friday and will definitely be waiving them in the air. If anyone wants to make copies of them, let me know.

I'll take a Francis foam head if you're being serious. I'm not sure if I have 5 of each, but I know I have atleast 2 of each. I have to check on Friday when I drive back.

Maybe we can meet up right before the game.

In all honesty, I think the best comparison is not the Championship year of 1993-1994, or even the Repeat year of 1994-1995, but rather the year before, 1992-1993.

    Here's why.

That was also the year that we returned to the playoffs. That was Rudy T's first full-year as head-coach. We were also the underdogs. We were also playing a 7-game series against the team that everyone thought would in it. (And, coincidentally, both teams had Gary Payton as PG).

Against the Sonics, we lost both Games 1 and Games 2 on the road. We came back home with precious little chance of winning the series. We seemed to have no answer to the lightning-quick speed of the Sonics defense. The season was over.

And of course, as we all know, we didn't win the series. But we fought like hell, winning Games 3 and 4, losing 5, winning 6, and taking the Sonics to the brink in a heartbreaking Game 7. No, we didn't win the series. But after being down 2 games to 0, we delivered the message that we were for real. That series against the Sonics tested our team and gave them meddle. It payed off the next year. (With a wee bit of luck from the Nuggets, of course!)

So yes, there's no comparing this squad to the champions of 94 and 95. But if we could come back from 0-2 against the Sonics, a team we had no answers for, somehow I think we can do it against the Lakers, a team we know we can beat.

    Believe.

I will go down fighting that is all i have to say. I don't care what all these other fans have to say. i am tired of the ones that only cheer when we are winning and as soon as we are 2 points down they bow their head.

I cheered for this team before our championships, cheered when we won the championship and cheered all the way up to know.

Im not going to stop just cuase we loose.

    I'll die a rockets fan....plain and simple.

haha, hell yeah, I'll give you the francis foam head.

Are you going to the Pep Rally before the game? I'll be there. I'll email you or PM (not sure which this board allows) and send you my cell number so you can call me. if neither is possible I'll just post it here. Although I don't think I want the entire forum knowing my number. :p
