I just got back from walking to my nearby post office (it closed at one, but I still ended up putting the mail in the box) no less than an hour ago. Anyway, as I was walking back, I decided to get on my cell. So just as I finish talking to the person, I notice the lights are about to change. I figured I had enough time to still jog across the street. Well, for some reason, there was no delay in this particular intersection. So there were three cars.

It's easier to explain through this handy diagram:

I did learn that cell phones do indeed alter the ability to walk.

It sucks not having a car.

So what are some of your near misses/close calls with anything?

I almost hit a deer coming home from work this morning on FM1960 right next to the wolfies at Veterans Memorial...big one too. Someone had already hit him, looked like a 8-10 point, and he was lying in the middle lane just flopping around from an injury I suspect. Wish I could've just put him out of his misery, but I'm sure someone would be pissed at me putting a few shots into a deer in the middle of the road. Poor fella.
