Man, I know ET has got some gas in his tank. They are looking pretty good.

    Kaman / Euro
    Brand / Wilcox
    Maggette
    Mobes
    Livingston / Cassell

They'll be in the playoffs, Dunleavy is a quality coach, If Cuttino can keep from shooting fade away 3's...

When he's on his game, Sam Cassell is an offensive force.

When he's disgruntled and in a mood, he's not very good at all. And that doesn't count the lessening production due to age and the injuries that come with it.

    Now, he's on the Clippers.

Sam was easily the best point guard in basketball in 2003-04, and there's no reason to think that he can't return to 80 percent of that level in 2005-06. All he has to do is stay healthy.

And because 2003-04 was his only fully healthy season that I can remember, there's no reason to think that he will stay healthy. He'll miss 30 games, Clips miss the playoffs.

    Phoenix / SA / Dallas / Houston / Seattle / Denver

    make the playoffs

    Lakers / Clippers / Utah / GS / Sac

fight for the last 2 spots.

I see Sac and GS getting in

so yeah i suppose everyone's right... Clips dont get in even with a healthy Cassell

After signing SAR, you think the Kings will be fighting for one of the last 2 spots in the playoffs? Who in the Pacific division will finish ahead of them? IMO, the Suns will fall far from their lofty perch of last year, and the Kings will blow past them and win the division. This Kings team is tailor made to have a good to great regular season. With so many scorers, Bibby won't burn himself out trying to do too much and can save himself for late game clutch shots. This team will score a lot of points and destroy undermanned teams like Phoenix did last year. But in the playoffs against the better teams, they will fail as usual.

Are we talking about the LA Clippers? As in "perennial laughingstock of the NBA Clippers"?

There's no way they're making the playoffs. They'll find a way to screw it up

how can you like a team that downgraded two positions in the off season ?

(three if you consider Cory better than Cat)

Man, it seems like I remember Cassell being on FIRE against us in a game this regular season. The one where the game went into OT and we ended up winning. It was a Minnesota home game.

You mean the one where he missed the potential game-winner? ;)

what? they had maggette, brand, and kaman at sf/pf/c last year and will this year and they traded simmons for cat which kept sg even and traded livingston/jaric for livingston/cassell at pg. that doesn't mean they'll make the playoffs but they sure didn't downgrade 2 positions and possibly 3.

Seattle a lock to make the playoffs? Are you kidding me? I think you're forgetting about Memphis. Still a good team.

All I want the Clips to do is finish ahead of the Lakers. And I think they can do it. :)

Okay, so it's a given that there are about 6 or 7 teams in the West competing for the last couple spots...and then what, like 3 or 4 teams finishing above .500 in the East? Yeah, teams like Memphis and Utah who have solid players on their team can't stay above water in the crowded ocean, but they'll be the Rockets of the past (before recent playoffs)...just outside looking in.

But how can anyone say the Clippers will make it...or even say they'll be any good? How about the team whom they traded Jaric? Minnesota was down last year (because of guys like Sprewell and Cassell). They just got better and the Clippers got a waaaay overrated OLD guard in Cassell.

This is the Clippers -- the underdog that continues to find new ways to fail. I give them 37 wins at most...Orlando will have more wins than the Clippers.

The Clips have a bunch of talent like they always do, but I think this is a good mix of youth/vet. They definitely have enough to make the playoffs, but the Clips always find a way to make themselves lottery bound every year.

Thank you, I'd have to say that Cassell is an upgrade at the 1 over Jaric, especially in the leadership and scoring aspect, also yeah Simmons had a great year last year but Cats been consistently scoring and playing tough D for years now. I dont think they've downgraded at all.

This team isn't nearly as strong as the team in 02-03 that had Miller, Maggette, Odom, Brand, Kandi, with Q and Jaric off the bench.

They're the Clippers. Something will go wrong. Something always goes wrong.
