I had not read that thread before so I had no idea who you were/are. But I do have one question about another apparent lie in that thread. First you said you had never even heard the word "macaca" before Allen used it (in an attempt to minimize the usage) and then later you said that you, as an Indian, were offended when you first heard he used the word. I was surprised that no one brought that up before.

I also don't understand what lying about your race on an internet board taught you about yourself (you claimed that was why you did it). Did it teach you how to spell and use proper grammar?

You're more interested in bashing then in understanding...so why don't you go *#&$ yourself?

    You are kidding right?
I mean seriously. . .race is HUGE in America
You are either Very Young or Very Naive

Twinkie? That is a new one on me.

Basically, You brought your race up . . . and it got hotter than you expected
then you tried to cover up your race because of the unexpected results.

    Race is *always* an issue
    esp in the D & D

You live. . hopefully you learn

    Its easier
    To ignore race
    when it
    Is anonymous

Who would have thunk that D&D threads would be the most interesting ones of the offseason?

Who wants their race to be brought up everytime they post? I don't. I only brought it up to make a point in that thread and didn't know it would cause such a stir. I might have to resign my handle and start anew.

You are either very poorly educated or very self-absorbed. Race is huge not only in America (although many narrow-minded people might think that), but all over the WORLD!!!!!

But you probably haven't seen much outside of the U.S.

Oh, am I judging based on your race? Hmmmm....maybe....maybe not. But everything you write for now on will be colored by the fact we all know you are black. Don't think so? Why don't you read "Blink" by Malcom Gladwell. Educate yourself on race...as a minority, you should know better.

That is just an extreme and silly hurdle. So he said something in the passion of a moment--- now it has to be policy? That's crazy.

It shouldn't have to be policy because he said it in passion. It should be policy because a sound policy would be going after the person who lead the group that killed almost 3,000 Americans on 9/11.

If he said it, then yes he should keep his word whether he said it off the cuff or not.

The only thing extreme here is you going to extremes to excuse Bush for not following through on his promises. When the President of the US makes a definitive statement in public about the head murderer of U.S. citizens then it isn't crazy that people will question why that pledge wasn't kept.

Whether it was said off the cuff, in a policy press conference or in the state of passion doesn't matter.

You guys are so funny. I post a thread asking if George Allen is a racist or not based on the macaca comment.

I take the position he is not - because I HATE the whole PC Culture that people create. Many of you are guilty of re-inforcing that PC Culture, and it's ridiculous. You guys start saying I must be some sort of white supremisist to be saying this...and when I reveal that in fact not only am I not white but of a race being attacked....you can't accept it.

The response is: New Yorker must be half-white!!!!!

    My god...how sick is that?

So yeah, i didn't feel comfortable with people mocking my racial make-up for a position I was taking on a BBS thread. So yeah, I lied in order to hide my race and throw people for a loop. But you guys kept on coming after me...because apparently you don't have anything better to do then to personalize a debate.

Who cares who I am? I'm just some guy posting his thoughts about various issues in order to test out ideas.

Why must I be half-white or whatever if I state one position over the other? Why must be a Japanese guy if I criticize China, or a Jew-lover if I criticize Muslims, but an Arab if I criticize Israel?

I think people on this board are way too focused on the individual and not enough focused on what the individual writes.

Forget about race - focus on the message, not the messanger. Now can we stop this silliness?

Should we take this to mean you do care about your credibility on this BBS?

New Yorker, many of your posts do contain some thought behind them. And you usually stick to the topic and don't attack others or anything like that.

But in the other thread you brought up your own race, then admitted lying about it, and now we are hearing more.

When a BBS is anonymous and many posters discuss topics with each other on a semi-regular basis then there people become familiar with each other's style.

Sadly once you broke the trust and brought your race into it, then the box had been opened. Once it was shown that there was dishonesty it isn't beyond rational thought to believe that people would be upset about that and feel that they are not able to have serious discussion with you, because they don't know where you are coming from and if you are being honest or not.

I wish that hadn't happened, because you do have thoughtful posts that are usually on topic, but it did.
