Just heard on ESPN News that the Astros are concerned about Roger's back and want him to take an MRI... Apparently Roger does not want to. I think he should at least skip a start... Don't want anything serious to happen down the stretch.

Thats kind of scary, but he just came off his best start as an Astro. It's obvious it's not affecting his performance as long as he can stand the pain. He's a warrior. Just hope it doesn't cause further injury. Sounds like the Astros are concerned about that too.

Hmmm... apparently he originally hurt his back lifting furniture and said he's feeling pain in his pelvis area now.

BTW, the Giants designated Reuter for assignment... is he worth a look?

Eight innings of two hit, scoreless pitching. He should hurt his back more often. Maybe the back is affecting his hitting thus he can't knock in some runs to actually get a win.

If it isn't a concern to Roger it isn't a concern to me. Roger is from the old school and will do whatever it takes to be out there every 5th game... now all these damn pitchers are pansies.

It should be a concern. Roger Clemens is lot of things, but he's not a doctor - if he's making his condition worse, then there's a potential problem for the Astros. He himself has admitted the location of the pain has shifted - what if he's doing further damage to himself and it finally reaches a breaking point at the end of September?

He'll take some BC Powder like Nolan and be back out there in a jiffy!
