I have always liked Chuck Hayes untill tonight. When the teams came for the second half, little kids lined up at the entrance to the court waiting to give high five to the players as they passed by. Chuck walked right by them and never even looked down.

Its a shame ! He was the only Rocket that didn't make an effort to greet a kid. I thought he was better than that !

Dude their job is to focus and win the dam game. you cant simply judge some one's character because of that.. Roy Halladay, who is known to a super nice guy doesn't even speak with his teamates before the game so he doesn't get lose focus.

over the course of a career, a ball player may high five millions of kids...and he'll miss a few a million as well....if your a rockets fans why would you ever base whether you like hayes or not on one single experience? We all know he's a nice guy,

Your right they do have the game to worry about. Its there job. Having said that, It would have taken all of a second to do what every other player did.

as much as i like chuck's game (hustle and great defense), lets be real... i dont think any of the kids were disappointed if CHUCK HAYES didnt get them a high five when all of the others did..

how do you know he even noticed? And if you were him, would you high five every single person that wanted a high five over the course of your career because it only takes "all of a second?" You said kidS, so that definitely would have been a few seconds, add that up game after game, and it's not even close to a second. You pick and choose when you're a celeb, you cant please everyone.

Your right that not every kid gets a high five from a player. And yes I have seen on many occasions Chuck give high fives. And yes he is a nice guy. I over reacted!

I guess I am just alittle disappointed that he didn't make the effort that normally does.

    Big Deal.

You don't even know what's on his mind at that moment.

Chuck high fived my 4 year old at the open practice, Tracy did too! (Even after the security guy said no) Both guys put their hand in the air and my son happily gave them five.
Even after all that while everyone was getting the provided cards signed, Chuck, Tracy, Dorsey and Cook all signed my Rockets hoodie! How's that for going out their way!

Wow, it only took you 20 minutes to realize you overreacted and made what probably is the worst thread in the past week (and that is truly an accomplishment).

And for that, I commend you, good sir. :)

I had this same opportunity at a game earlier this season, and half of the players basically ignored us. I'm pretty sure they're focused on the game, and they just want to get back on the court and start warming up. I wouldn't hold it against them.

Maybe Chuck'll buy them each a sandwich at Subway's to make up for it...

I feel you man. NBA players are so full of themselves these days. I once followed Yao home, and when we got their he didn't even want to hangout. Some great guy he is...had to send out his parents to get rid of us.

    Who cares about the kids?

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME, you don't play to greet the kids
