Will he have to step up his game the next 2 weeks with Carl out? Or will the rockets let DM play more when Yao is off the court? Or something of that combination??? I have to type up a report. As always, thanks for you input rocket fans!!! JLEW1818
We'll find out. Against some teams, we'll see more Chuck and/or Deke. Against other teams, as before when Landry was out, we'll see neither and Ron Artest will fill in at PF.
We'd probably have seen that, regardless of Carl being out. Any time the opponent has a two guard on the floor that don't post up, you might as well run Aaron and Kyle out there for the extra offense.
We don't abbreviate Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean Jacque Wamutombo's name to DM. You either call him Deke or by his full name.
Yes, but you must say it with a scraggly deep voice and wave your finger at the same time. Othewise it's just nonsensical.
deke hasnt played a single minute when yao was in. what makes u think he'll play now with yao back in?
Hayes will provide his own special brand of bench spark. Also, he is arguably the most consistent athlete of all time.
I'm guessing Chuck and Deke will play based on matchups. If the matchups are really bad, we could see Scola/Yao/Artest to play 40 minutes each to cover for the lack of depth. You can't really expect Chuck to "step up his game". He is what he is.
I think it depends on how they match up with the opposing team's backcourt. Adelman seems more willing to use the Lowry/Brooks backcourt when the opposing team's backcourt doesn't have a significant size advantage, obviously. For example, I bet if Hamilton wasn't injured, we probably would have seen our PGs go up against Stuckey and Hamilton at some point in the Pistons game. (I was actually looking forward to that.) As for the original question of Hayes or Mutombo, my guess is that Chuck will be getting more minutes than Deke, despite Mutombo's amazing performance in New Orleans. The reason I think is that while both are offensively challenged, Hayes is an excellent passer and so stays more involved in the Rockets offense. This is something I think that makes Adelman value Hayes over Deke. Plus, he probably thinks Scola and Hayes or Artest should be able to handle things while Yao is resting. But OTOH I hope he doesn't underestimate Deke's ability to clog the lanes. If Yao gets in early foul trouble, for example, I'd like to see Mutombo get in there and shut down the paint. Don't expect it to happen in the Detroit game, though.
doubt we be seeing him much. There is no one for him to match up to, other than wallace. Saying that, we could see artest and/or battier playing at the 4 spot.
