* Be ye fishers of men. You catch 'em - He'll clean 'em. * Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous. * Don't put a question mark where God put a period. * Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church. * Forbidden fruits create many jams. * God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called * God grades on the cross, not the curve. * God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the spirit" over "religious nuts!" * God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. * He who angers you, controls you! * If God is your Copilot - swap seats! * Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory capacity. * Prayer: Don't give God instructions - just report for duty! * The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us. * The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not protect you. * We don't change the message, the message changes us. * You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him.
Just a few of my favorites: "Keep your rosaries off my ovaries" "Darwin Loves You" "Don't pray in my school, and I won't think in your church" "Atheism a non-prophet organization" and of course a personal favorite of mine "W W J D, Walt Williams Just Doing it"
RichRocket, you're just inviting people to insult Christians with these posts. I'm not a religious person myself, but I hate it when people put down those who are...I think it's really low-class.
TheFreak, don't you think this is funny: LOL! the "rosaries off my ovaries" is even funnier. Hell, I even have trouble w/ unlimited abortion and I've even discussed whether or not faith in school is an okay thing (under my old joke "I was raised in a repressive environment, and it didn't do me any harm", hehe). Besides, there's nothing wrong with communication. Religious people should feel fine with proselytizing, as I proselytize w/ spin fishermen about the holiness of fly fishing. But I in my communication, and Christians in theirs, should completely appreciate other people's pov too, lest we be morons. I doubt I'll ever appreciate spin fishing, but I digress.....
Oh, nevermind, rockHead's post is completely irreverent. It's funny, but obviously offensive to religious people.
There is no invitation to ridicule in my post. The bumper stickers are fair and funny and light humor. Only in this culture (or is it just this place) is that counted as open season on Christians and Christianity. See my distinction between laughing "about" and laughing "at." You just can't keep some people from their own boorish behavior.
My favorite: It will be a great day when schools have all the money they need and the military has to hold a bake sale to buy ammunition.
I guess you don't see your own hypocrisy. "I mean no harm when I make a racial slur. I love every race. Its just a joke, but obviously offensive to different colored people." "I mean no harm when I crack a gay joke. I don't mind gay people. Its just a joke, but obviously offensive to gay people."
