Good. I hope this goes to seven games before the Lakers prevail.

eh...Kobe's choke was one pass. But if he had found Horry behind him on that break, I think the Lakers win and the Spurs complete a TREMENDOUS playoff choke.

Hey ZRB... I hate to mention this, but "mentally weak" teams typically fold on the road when they come so close to pulling an upset in Game 1, are without their second best player, and when the Lakers come so close repeatedly to completing a run.

Great game, now it's time to hold the homecourt.

I can't believe there are so many Laker fans on this board. I'm so sick of that team, and i took great pleasure in watching Kobe brick his 3 and pass to himself.

I blame the refs, it's obviously a conspiracy by the league to keep the games exciting.

Seriously though, the Lakers need to wake up, and I believe they will. This series is over, the Spurs won't win another game.

Anyway, wtf was that play where the coaches are on the floor and Tony Parker goes in for a layup? Like a trick play or something? ha.

The Spurs were lucky tonight. They lost 18 points off of that 21 point lead, and nearly pulled off a colossal choke of their own.

But I am happy they won. I want the Lakers to be taken to the limit before emerging victorious. I'm hoping that the Spurs lose, and then the Lakers lose to the Mavs in the next round.

The league needs a different champion, but NOT the Spurs.

I hope it goes to seven and the Spurs win. Its like choosing between drowning and jumping out of a plane. I hate the Spurs and the Lakers. I just want both of em tired before they face the Mavs (hopefully not Sac). And I think the Mavs have a better chance of beating the Spurs then the Lakers.

    GO MAVS!

How did you feel about the referees tonight Cat?

Anyway, the Lakers got caught daydreaming about the championship parade and just couldn't get it done. (Kobe blew it, but he's the only reason the Lakers were in a position to blow it to begin with, so I can't get too mad).

The refs obviously gave this game to the Spurs. Completely took Shaq out of the game and that "jump ball" call was blatant. There must be a conspiracy.

Conspiracy? Nope. Just a badly reffed game. It happens. The Lakers couldn't get it done when given numerous chances, and this loss is all on them. I was extremely upset by this game and ran a mile or so at 10 PM and only now is my faith restored in my Lakers. I believe they have enough to overcome this speed bump.

Don't get it confused. I'm not a Laker fan by any means...just a Spur hater.

Crying about refs is the worst excuse ever.

You have 48 mins on the court to build yourself a lead that's large enough to withstand a few bad calls here and there.

If you lose, blame yourself for not scoring more points than the other team.

As for the game, I expect LA to come out on fire in Game 3. Too much pride, and too much saavy to fold like a cheap tent.

LA still wins in 5 or 6.

napster: I said the same thing after game 1 (hours later, that is). Notice how you didn't post seconds after the game? That's what I should've done (waited). :( Like I said in that thread, I let my emotions get the better of me, and I didn't think things through. I apologize for any conspiracy talk.

Anyway, I thought the officiating in this game was actually pretty good. Though I think Shaq should've been called for a couple of over the backs in the 3rd quarter when he had four fouls, I think the officials did as good a job in LA as I've ever seen. They didn't buy the Laker flops, and let the Spurs play with the same intensity on their interior defense that the Lakers regularly do.

Ummm....seems to me that the Lakers got lucky to get that close. The Spurs made too many mental errors on the offensive end.

Also, isn't it refreshing to see the game called (at least as far as Shaq is concerned) appropriately. If you run someone over it's a charge. If you spin and knock someone out with your elbow it's an offensive foul. They are the same things he does every game but it isn't called as often.

Why can't the Spurs stop Kobe from turning to the middle? I know he is very good, but after someone turns toward the paint ot score on you three or four times, you adjust, and make him spin towards the baseline.

Spurs were lucky to get such a solid game out of Mark Bryant. He played really well and was active. I think it goes to show that if the player Shaq is guarding is active, he can get some offensive boards, have some defensive success.
