do we have chemistry issues right now?

i am asking the question because lately i've seen increased numbers of post game comments from yao and battier that obviously made artest the culprit of not playing proper team ball.

i know even if we do have chemistry issues, they are probably different from the ones we had in the middle of the season when mcgrady was still active on the roster. but if we do, it is gonna be a probelm heading into the playoffs.

    a legit concern, or not?

Yes there are chemistry issues, have been all year. Last year we did not have any to speak of, now what changed?

yes. the thing is Ron is a good guy with good intentions who doesnt always do the right thing, so you cant hate a guy for that, so i dont think there's any drama, but they definitely worry about his decision making sometimes...but its not just ron messing up though...

Wafer was integrated in the rotation.

The chemistry issue was basically exposed when it was known that Rafer and Ron had problems because Ron refused to run the plays.

yes, ron is a good guy. i've always liked him since he was drafted, despite the auburn hill incident. i know a lot of fans like his toughness and i do too. but he's not the only one who plays with intensity. in fact he's too intense sometimes.

we shall see what happens in the playoffs with ron. but someone needs to speak up to him and wake him up if need be - during games.

read the stories on the chronicle for last couple weeks. it's not hard to find comments from yao and battier that were pointing to ron. not too many times, since we have been winning most of the time. and it doesn't look like confrontational or hate-each-other type of issue, but it's there. i just hope it doesn't get bigger.

examples from just last night -

“We got away from him (Yao), which is probably the dumbest thing we can do, especially when the big fella gets it going,” Rockets forward Shane Battier said. “We started to look elsewhere. We started to launch jumpers. They got a couple 3s, got back in the game. After that, it was tough to slow them down.”

“We really struggled all season against the fronts,” Yao said. “We have a plan how to play against the front defense, but we didn’t do well tonight. The second half, I only caught a couple post-ups, early in the third quarter. And then, I’m just running up and down the court. That’s a ball movement problem, and also I didn’t hold my post well.”

we lost tmac to a season-ending injury. are you saying that tmac is really the glue guy??? good, because i can't stand the uselessness of battier on this team.

No, I am saying there was a balance with Tmac and Yao, and the rest of the team, and that Ron came in and upset the apple cart.

He is a bull in a china shop both on the court and off.

I completely agree, the problem needed to be evaluated over the offseason with artest is the following:

Artest's Defensive/physical presence VS The salary he will demand, and his selfishness on offense

If the salary he demands is on the higher end- let him go. As much as I appreciate what he has brought to this team, we will be alright without him.

The best part about that is we will have the money if artest goes to sign:

-Mike Bibby or Jason Kidd. Battier/Tmac can fill the void of Artest. Mike Bibby or Kidd make our weakness a strength. If we had bibby or kidd, we really would have no glaring holes in our team.

Also letting Artest walk lets Von Wafer expand his role as our 6th man. Von Wafer is special, I haven't been this excited about a young player we had since cat or sf3.
