if you have a desire to, then somethings obviously wrong. not with you, but the relationship. Cut bait and move along.

I've never cheated and I will never do it. The very thought has never crossed my mind. Just the thought of causing my fiancee any sort of pain or trauma literally makes me ill. She (and our relationship) mean too much to me.

People, it's not cheating if you don't get caught.

Sounds like me. I could NEVER lie to my wife. She'd see it ALL OVER MY FACE if I ever did that. :D

I just hate it that many men give the rest of us a bad name. :( I know of someone who cheats while I am nearby... and I want to say something so bad... but I can't... I JUST CAN'T.

xXShadyPiNkXx... :( Don't let this bring you down, sister.

If that's the case, why is polygamy so frowned upon? What's the difference between sleeping around with seven different girls or marrying all seven?

Cultural thing. I guess the difference between sleeping with seven different women and marrying them would be the legality issue, since america frowns upon polygamy they arent going to legally recognize you marrying more than one person. I dont support polygamy, I'm just trying to give an explaination. I know in some cultures polygamy is very common.

Never have, never will...I just would never do that to anyone I respect...and I wouldnt go out with anyone I dont respect, so cheating is really not an option for me. I see no point in it. If Im gonna cheat on my girl, then that means there is something missing that Im not getting from the current relationship. If thats the case, then why be in the relationship in the first place?

Boy, do I have a few things to say in this thread.

I've cheated and been cheated on. The ironic things is, the first time I ever cheated, I told my girlfriend over the phone that I made-out with another girl over the previous weekend. She went on to tell me that she had cheated with her ex-boyfriend (who coincidentally lived three houses down the street from me) a couple weeks prior.

I've always heard people say to never cheat because eventually your significant other will find out or you will feel so guilty you will eventually confess. However, a couple of the girls I've had relationships with never found out anything and I never felt compelled to confess.

I have had relationships since then where I didn't cheat at all, but I have come to the realization that I'm not going to be the type of person who gets married any time soon and enters a lifelong monogamous relationship. Maybe in my late 30s or so I will have a different perspective and look for marriage, but I don't want to enter into a monogamous marriage unless I know I can 100% commit to my vows and my wife. Perhaps I would be more compatible with a wife who is bisexual and enjoys the occasional threesome? Not sure. I know for sure I will never be able to be in a marriage where the sex life dwindles down to near-nothing.

For the time being I have had a mixture of exclusive relationships, open relationships, threesomes, and friends with benefits. I just enjoy sexual variety too much right now, along with experiencing a wide-range interesting women and the thrill of the chase.

Loyalty is the biggest thing to me. it means sooo much to me. It crushes me badly when people sell me out, or is disloyal.

OK. Wow some of these things went way off into different tangents, so I'll try to reply to everything I can in one post...

It wasn't an actual threesome. I let him date another girl, they went out a few times, then WE as a group went out a few times, then things got a little physical. It was all in fun, nothing serious. No problems arose. I see it as, "Hey, we're only 18, we're not married, we dont have children, so let's have fun." Nothing complicated, just fun.

I'll respond to these three together...

I have NO desire to cheat. lol I haven't in the 4 years we've been together and I'm not going to now. I just created the thread because I was curious about how many people actually go through with cheating. Hoping to get some insight as to why. Cheating makes no sense to me. If you're unhappy, end the relationship, don't cheat. I've personally seen what cheating can do to a person/family. I will never do it.

    LMAO. random but no.

This is stupid. So guys cheat cus their gf's/wives are ugly? All my sister's husbands/ex husbands cheated with women that were definitely a step down.

Oh and about him being jealous, it was over a comment I made about a guy he thought had a "thing" for me so the jealousy wasn't completely out of left field.

And thanks SwoLy. It would hurt, but I would leave any man that cheats. Unlike my mother  , I want to have a man/woman that knows my value.

I will never say never but I haven't and I don't plan to. I have too much to lose and too little to gain from it. If I feel a need to cheat then my marriage is over in the first so I might as well get divorced first.

The biggest reason for me not to cheat now is my daughter. I couldn't imagine myself ever dissapointing her like that if for some reason she found out.

I come from a different background. I have 8 brothers and sister that I know have never cheated or been cheated on. I don't know if my dad ever cheated but it just uncommon in my family. In fact out of the over one hundred aunts, uncles, and cousins, none have ever even been divorced and only 3 have married someone that had been divorced. Loyalty and sacrafice are big deal in my family and cheating just isn't in the gene pool.

    Always do. :D

I think it would've been better if the poll had some type of age association. If he was happily married with kids for x amount of years, he most likely wouldn't cheat on his wife. On the other hand, if it's a guy who's around his 20's, I'm sure he's at least cheated once. Here's one thing I don't think anyone talked about, is the generation gaps. A few generations ago cheating wasn't such a big issue. These days, it's normal.

I'm a little suprised at how many guys who have never cheated, but I'd also make the assumption that this forum caters to an older crowd (married w/kids).
