Im in a bs situation. My apartment complex has a contract with TV MAXX so all I can get for internet is DIALUP! I have a cell phone, dont need a home phone but I need a phone line for dialup. Who would have the cheapest service a month for having a phone line? Im hoping to pay under $35 a month for a line.
I'd agree with this. Dial-up sucks. Having to pay for a phone line you don't need to get on dial-up sucks even worse.
I called SBC Yahoo DSL and they said if im under contract with TV MAX then I cant get DSL. SO I guess IM gonna have to go through SBC to get a phone line, then get EV1.
Man that sux. As a college student whether or not I can get cable or other highspeed connection is something that's a pre-requisite before getting an apartment. Just a legal question in case it comes up in the future, if I ask the apartment complex before I started leasing if I can get broadband and they said "yes", but it turns out to be "no", am I able to sue to get out of my lease + moving cost + a little money for making me move again?
You can get out of it as long as you can have proof that they said you could get broadband. Even though verbally telling you is still a binding contract you have to be able to prove it and then it becomes a he said she said kinda thing which is hard to prove. If you ever want to do that...make sure you take a mini tape recorder or something so you can have some proof or just have the put it in writting that you can get what your asking for. That way you have some documentation to help the case I'm not a lawyer but i did stay in a HOliday in Express last night.
