I have recently become quite a Cavit convert. Their Pinot Grigio is about $5.99 a bottle and is a very nice little white wine. It is Italian, with a light citrus, grassy, melon flavor. Really good value.

For a bit more I really suggest the Pepi Sauvignon Blanc for a white wine and the Georges Duboeuf Fleurie for a red wine. They are about ten bucks a bottle and both were ranking in the top 100 wines on the market in the latest Food and Wine magazine list.

Back when I was in college I used to go to parties where when you first walked it you had to take a hit from the Franzia bong. Whoever had the longest hit got to wear a cowboy hat we made out of Franzia Boxes. It was a damn cool hat....

I think I'll crack open my bottle of 1999 Shafer Hillside Select Cab tonight.

Then again, I think I'll just leave it at the bottom of the wine chiller and sip the much more reasonably priced 1999 Simi Cab.

If you really like wine, I highly recommend spending the $40 to get the online version of Wine Spectator. You can pull out information from their database in all kinds of wonderful ways.

It really helps you find that bargain priced wine that scores in the 90's....especially now that they've freed the grapes in Texas.

Do you know of any websites that have good prices? I have tried searching for wine online and found it to be a few $ more than a local liquor store.

My fovorite cheap wine is Rabbit Ridge Cabernet for around $8

I think Santa Carolina is the best cheap wine available. A good friend of mine is a wine salesman and he turned me on to it.

I found some good prices at winex.com the other day, and if you buy at least 12 bottles and use a coupon, you can get 20% off at wine.com

    That is a tasty beverage.

Seghisio zinfandel is a good under $20 bet as well.

At the slum liquor store that I worked at about 15 years ago, we used to sell the closeout pints of the crappiest flavor of MD 20/20 available. In case you have no idea what flavor this was, it was the MD 20/20 Mocha-Coca. As in chocolate and coffee flavored cheap ass wine. It sold for 90 cents a pint and you could tell when the whino's disability cheques were about to be renewed because they'd order this crap and then cringe.

Anything which is so nasty that it will cause the most hardcore of drunkards to shiver gets my vote. Get the MD 20/20 Coca-Mocha.

    Yum.

You want cheap wine? Get some Ocean Spray grape juice, leave it on the window sill for a week, then scrap off the stuff on top...

    Tres Magnifique!!

There is some good Chilean wine that has a napsack on the outside of the bottle...

Also, Hogue Merlot and Cab are good and cheap.
