ANybody knows where i can get a cheap media player? i dont mean the simple mp3 players like a ipod and things but one that can play music and video files. i saw on this web thing called woot a zube for 99 dollas but it sold out and that was weeks ago. anybody knwow where i can find one for the lowprices?
If you're gonna spend that much, you should get a Zune. Even though it doesn't show foreign language song names, horrible syncing software and etc. that makes me not want to use it, the hardware and the actual firmware on the device is very solid.
Wow, how big is that Archos player? I was looking at an mp3 player in the Woot-Off thread and was thinking about that but this looks too good to pass up.
I forgot to get the Zune from Buy.com when it was 99 bucks. Now everyone is selling that same Zune for 150 bucks now. I'm talking about the new condition one, not refurbished. I thought like gravity, electronic prices always fall down over time.
Archos is slightly too big to jog with but not enormous. It will fit into your pocket. Great way to store all your music, replace your physical CD collection, etc... But not ideal for working out. It has a huge, scratch resistant, vivid screen that blows Ipod and Zune out of the water. I was looking at a Zune. Did a lot of research. And finally went with the Archos. You get the freedom of dragging and dropping files, a badass touch screen (for cheap), huge screen, and the option for the DVR and Camcorder upgrade. Thats right, you can turn the Archos into a DVR. Samsclub and Woot have the best deals on Archos players but they are probably never going to see any again. The deal joebozz mentioned is great, I paid 250 for mine. Focus on the 604 series as it is the best bang for the buck. And skip out on the wifi version. Cnet.com for review
What's 'cheap' to you? That term is relative for different people. I'm assuming that $99 is cheap for you, since you mentioned it. Another BIG factor is size- how much room do you need? I picked up a 4gb Sandisk Sansa (refurb, but in perfect condition) off of Woot about a month ago for $65 shipped (it was later lowered and reposted for $40). It is expandable via micro-sd. Fantastic player. Woot seems to sell these things ever few weeks- they must be tight with Sandisk. $99 is the most I would pay for a 'media' player, by the way. iPods, like everything else Apple, are outrageously overpriced for what you get.
