It's always cool to see something get blown up. Here's the ESPN story to go along with it... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2889956 <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1SA6-7xo5K0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1SA6-7xo5K0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Man, what could have been in that arena. I remember in the Zo/LJ years that place was always packed to capacity (IIRC, it was also one of the largest arenas in the NBA) and they had some good teams. I think it's a joke that the NBA allowed Shinn to ruin one great NBA city, move to a bad sports down, ruin that place, and eventually I think they'll let him bail from New Orleans. The fact that the owners of the Hornets are still allowed to run NBA teams shows you that Stern knows who cuts his checks.
That was pretty cool. Right after the countdown when the TNT started to sound I thought it was drum beats and a song was about to go on.. hahah. And the the arena collapsed..
Lot of great memories of that place. Let's see, there was Zo's shot to beat the Celtics.....and....uh.....let's see....um......... Well, it was a nice place anyway.
