He needs to go. He screwed the conference by not backing the true champion.

    24 is FAR too much.

I don't think anything more than 8 is necessary.

This is completely unsuprising given the whole "co-champions" bs he created along with the embarrassment he received in waco on saturday.

Haha funny how you left out Cincinnati an actual conference champion?

The big 12 commissioner is an idiot and didn't know how the process works. He thought TCU would be ranked higher at the end and he was wrong. Most of us thought Baylor would jump TCU after they beat K state.

I agree with this. People like Bowlsby were too focused on the week-by-week rankings and not actually listening to what the committee was saying. When I read this last week, I was pretty confident Baylor would hop TCU:

Classic case of Big 12 being reactive rather than proactive, it seems.

I'm not. We're the Big 12 champs again and have a good test in Michigan State on Jan 1st while having a chance to finish #2 in the final polls.

We're building a program and now it can be proven to recruits that we can contend for a title esp when it goes to 8.

I didn't know they played Cincy. Add them to the list. I promise you, I wasn't trying to hide Cincy :)

I think you can make arguments for both teams...but the idea that Ohio State had this vaunted schedule and Baylor didn't is betrayed by the fact Baylor played 3 teams ranked in the top 25 and beat them all...and Ohio State only faced 2.

As a Baylor fan I reserve the right to complain about the process (and I have), but honestly knowing that while I was there we were storming the field and carrying the goalposts back to President Sloan's house because we won our first ever Big 12 game (vs. Colorado) to 11 years later complaining about the being back to back big 12 champs and just outside of the first ever college playoff is pretty sweet.

Disappointed at not being in the playoff (who wouldnt be in our position) but as a fan couldn't be happier with the development the program has made on the field the past few years.

Nothing wrong with that. Definitely on the right track.
    Yup, no problem.

Doesn't matter. Ohio State, not TCU not Baylor, has the right to get blown out by Bama. Enjoy having one fewer loss on your schedule.

Art Briles wins with 3 stars sprinkled in with a couple of 4 stars here and there.

    Baylor here is to stay.

And the only reason they get to play Alabama is because they are Ohio State. Its all about $$$ with this committee or Baylor/TCU would have been in.

That's great..that wasn't at all the point of my response. I'm well aware of which teams were picked for the playoffs, thanks.

How does the committee benefit from high profile match ups? They don't get any of the money, ESPN does. And they don't work for ESPN. The members all volunteered, the only way they benefit is if their school gets in... Which didn't happen for any of the members.

I probably would have put Baylor in, but all 3 teams had an equal case to make it. Its an incredibly tough decision. Like I said, I probably would've put Baylor in, but I think, of the 3 teams, they're the worst. I would pick both OSU and TCU to beat Baylor. My reasoning comes down to them winning a tougher conference and beating TCU H2H.

But I also understand going with OSU because of the way they have looked lately, beating some good teams handily. I wish they let 6 teams in, but for now this is how it works and you can't please everyone.

Agree to disagree. I believe that Baylor would easily beat tOSU and we already proved we could beat TCU on October 11th.

The committee was influenced by the brand name of Ohio State. Both of Baylor's top 2 wins were better than Ohio State and their loss was better. You can't sit there and say that Alvarez and Tom Osbourne weren't in there trying to influence the committee to include a Big 10 team in.

I don't think the tOSU brand name had to do with it at all. They torched a well ranked Wisconsin team. Had Baylor gotten to play a title game vs what I guess might have been K-State again, I feel like they'd be there. But I would be interested in seeing what the line would be for a Baylor vs. tOSU game. I definitely think TCU would have a closer line over tOSU.
