almost halftime, playing each other pretty tight. I notice the Suns have fewer ft's than the Celtics, and Amare only has 5 ft's off of 9 fga's. I guess either they are not playing him as tight as we did (snicker) or else he is just not getting the calls against other premier players (snicker). Suns are shooting 61% right now and up by 2.
amare is playing out of his mind. Its almost unfair to have amare and shaq in the front-court at the same time.
They just showed 'bonus coverage' of David West hitting the game winner against the Cavs. Chris Paul had 15 pts 20 assists and 1 turnover. Sigh.
Amare may be a good finisher around the basketball, but, let me tell you what, he is a very very poor defender and rebounder. Sometimes he didn't even seem to be in the mood to give it a try. The Celtics is 45-86 in the game. So they had missed 41 shots but they also grabbed 17 offensive rebounds. No team can win a playoff series if they let their opponents get the 42% of their missed shots back. I know there are many Amare's fans here and my post is not meant to diss Amare. I am just telling you what I saw in the game.
That was heartbreaking. Peja played matador to LeBron and basically escorted him down the lane for an easy lay-in with 7 seconds left. It was too easy and too early. Chris Paul's dish to David West was also too easy. West was so wide open it made the Cavs look unprepared.
He is definitely one-dimensional (offensive monster) but I think he is good enough at scoring points that his defensive lapses can be some what overlooked. But really, I don't understand why he doesn't even try on defense. They did, I think Mike Brown sucks.
